BOY... the 8' box sure "evens out" the look of that cab... SWEET...

as for why DC didnt do one yet... they only have 160" wheelbase trucks now... . ford is a 172" wb..... so bumping to roughly 180" wb chassis MC/LB is what DC has to do and they have to upgrade a few items to make it similar to the new F450 IMHO... BJ

35,000 lb GCVW MC/LB DRW 3500HD w/19. 5's stock... . NICE!!!

I agree... Im about ready to trade mine in for a mega cab, Do that conversion. Then get a single cab to go fast in... And of course paint it YELLOW!

That there is the sweetest 3rd gen yet, If I could do it that would be in my driveway next week. Three more years to pay on my '05 though :--)

I just got off the phone with Kadell and he says that it'll cost about $6,500. 00 to do the longbed conversion on a Mega Cab. He also said that within the week, he'll have a website for his company up along with more info about the truck and the differences in length and wheelbase between it and a crewcab longbed Ford Superduty.

I saw in Cape Girardeau a few months ago, a 3rd gen going down the street. It was a quad cab with what looked like a 18ft stinger bed on it for car hauling. I LOOKED at it, and my g/f asked what was up. I said, "I thought there was something about the frame that wouldnt allow stretching like that. " Someone got it figured out though. The one I saw was red with aluminum bed and I bet a 180 WB.

Daniel

So does he get to raise the GVW of the truck? Cause I bet it would be about overweight with me driving it under the current DC rating.

The guy who I bought my crew cab from replace it with a quad cab streched a foot by the Alton company (altonco.com). It is the white 04 in their trucks gallery. It looks a little different than the mega cab since it still has the small doors but it was way better than a quad cab. I am sure they could/would do a long bed conversion or a quad cab dually mega cab strech.

Just a thought. Why wouldn't Dodge make the back door bigger on the Mega cab truck? Then it would look normal right???? The Mega cab looks like an after thought. ("thats just like, my opinion man. ")

I dont know, those doors are already pretty dang long (comparing them to the front doors). The stock megacab duallies are the buttugliest thing on earth. I like this conversion, but would want to see one in person to see the workmanship. I agree with everyone else, the long bed helps balance the huge cab. That truck is freaking sweet looking. Come on you stupid idiots at DC make it, slap a 26k gvw on it and we will buy it.

I love the look of a Megacab dually! But I couldn't justify owning one and paying for 50% more tires and wheels, etc. But I like them.

Now lets take a Megacab and put a quad cab back section in the middle. Shorten the bed to 4' and you'd get an SUV and still put the dog in the back!

It's almost impossible to open the rear doors as it is when it's in a parking spot. The doors now are big enough. They need to get rid of that extra gap in the back and lengthing the bed in it's place. Give us a 7' bed and shorten the Cab by a foot. But that MegaCab long bed is sweet!

We have a winner. Oo.

That's what they should have done in the 1st place, but it would have required considerably more engineering and retooling to do it.
