I heard it's a few cents shy of $5. 00 there?? :--) :--) :--)

Not yet - I saw $2. 89 - $2. 95 this evening. But that's not a broad range of stations, since I don't pass lots of them. Filled up yesterday since I got a notice of the increase then.

Lines waiting on the streets, though.

What's the thought behind the high price you heard, Forrest? I guess it could be that Colonial Pipeline might be out of service? Maybe since it comes up from the gulf?

I'm about 45 min from the GA/AL line and fuel prices jumped today, the station closest to my house went from 2. 49 yesterday to 2. 87 today. The BP in town jumped regular unleaded from 2. 42 to 2. 99 today. Makes my outing to KY this weekend a little more expensive But I know other places have it much worse!

Just got an update from my dad over in Suwanee Georgia, out over by 85 N of ATL, there was a station there that had reg. unleaded for 4. 19/gal! Thats just flat out price gouging! Stations like that should be shut down and their gas given out for free!

.

You know darn well, what i am talking about. Of course soldiers couldnt prevent a hurricane. . but if why they died could have benefited our country with some oil we could use from Iraq as WELL... instead of in vain for some useless corporate cause. . their sacrifice would be alot greater appreciated by many. . although they are still never dead in vain in my eyes. . u understand?I am just pi$$ed right now because it has all led to THIS. . :(

Wrong place for this just for your information, The troops have no say in what they do please refrain from blaming someone who is dying to give you the right to slam whoever you wish. they are doing a service for you and all americans weather you appreciate it or not. Sorry for the rant I just get tired or people blaming the troops for the problems that have nothing to do with them.

No they shouldn't. If people are stupid enough to not drive down a few miles to CHECK if others station iare at $5, then they should pay the $5 for fuel.

Near downtown Minneapolis I can find diesel for $3. 00/gallon. I go out side, cross a bridge, basicly drive a few miles, I pay $2. 70. Should the guy in town be shutdown?

Target next door to Cub Foods. If I pay $2 for soap at cub, but it's $1. 20 and target. Should Cub be at fault for people being to damn lazy and stuid to walk next foor and save 80 cents?

Come one now people. think a little :)

Where was that pic from Forrest? Check out the Flying J link, as of now there are 10 stations running low and 1 is out of fuel. You can guess which ones they are, and the one that is out is in Gulfport, MS. Just saw a thing on TV about them guys.

I just got back from a trip to Panama City, FL over the week end and never paid more than 2. 79 for fuel. Petro in Atlanta is 2. 79. No fuel shortage. averaged 13. 1 hand calc. for 17,600# combined wt.

Let supply and demand sort it out.

Keep grinnin,

$2. 70/gallon at Kangaroo (truck stop) just northeast of Athens/Loop 10 on US Highway 29.

The whole "price gouging" thing is rediculious! It is called FREE MARKET, yall! If a customer is willing to pay $5 a gallon for fuel, why should the station be punished for it? The law of supply and demand: When supply goes down, and or demand goes up, the price of ANY good or service goes up. When that demand and or supply goes back down, so does the price. Works with just about anything in the retail or service industry. The prices in the fuel market will moderate back out as the refineries get back up to full production and the cost of repairing/rebuilding oil production componets is recaptured.

fuel is not the same as other goods

if some sap is willing to pay 100 for a pair of designer jeans, which are the same as another pair for 10 bucks, then that is the consumer's problem. but fuel prices affect every aspect of american life, and irresponsible price inflation affects everyone. sometimes, gov must protect people from themselves, or we may as well have anarchy.
