Bumper Cover Maintenance

Our Trucks Have a Shelf Life!!!

Hey all,

just got my truck back from a shop for a pretty large front end rebuild. Here is a list so you know what was installed and can better answer my question.

Since I have installed all of this and now have what's called memory steer, which the shop told me would correct after around 500 miles or so when the ball joints start adjusting or something like that.

Is there a better steering stabilizer upgrade to my current Bilstein 5100 that was converted from a y-style unit to a T-style with a clamp. Will this help the memory steer? I have researched and planned to run the Carli opposing stabilizer kit in a couple years when this one starts having issues.

I would think that there might be a bit of a "break" in period for such a big change. Was a front end alignment done, and if so, was it set to the Thuren specs for the "T" style improvement? This could be the issue if not done.

Yes and alignment was done but I don’t know if it was to thuren specs. I go back next week (500 break in) and I will have them do it then!

Had my 04 since new. Put 35" BFG's on it and had terrible death wobble. Added Fox dual stabilizers and it fixed the DW. Also switched to Toyo tires.
Years later I installed a complete Synergy steering assy, removed the dual stabilizers and re-installed the single stabilizer. NEVER get a hint of DW ever.

I had some BFG's that gave me dw and freeway vibes. Not one tire would take less that 4 ozs. One took 9 ozs. Neither BFG or Discount would help me. The Discount manager refused to take a drive with me. Sold them on Craigslist and replaced with Toyo. That was over 20 yrs ago. Not an issue since with Toyos..
My Dynatrac bj's took about 800 miles to loosen up.

I once had one TOYO that didn't need any weight at all.
