Mercedes 300SE ?'s

This is not a diesel but was wondering if any you folks have any experience with this model. Its got the inline six gas, pretty good size, not sure on which exact engine, or if there is an option. But I can buy for 5k it has 154k on the odom and well maintained, its from a friend of ours and it seems to be in great shape. A friend of mine in Colorado is looking for a car and this seems pretty good, drives well. Just wondering if there is any problematic areas, or stuff that is about to go wrong. I don't feel so bad about the high milage because its an inline, but what do I know. Any comments appreciated.

I can't comment on the gassers but my friend has had an 82 300 td for 15 years. The only thing that has gone bad is the heater fan or switch. It currently has 275k on it and he now uses it as the dog transporter. Solid well built car. Be sure to check kbb.com or edmunds.com for blue book and feedback on the reliability.

Forgot to mention

This is an 89 model year. Being an inline six gasser I think it would run longer than a different configuration, if nothing else because it has more bearing surface for the crank. Appreciate it, thanks,
