Look at the GVWR/GAWR sticker in the driver's door jamb. Of course, there's also the "hecho en Mexico" engraving on the window glass!

the first number in your VIN would be a 3..... my truck is from south of the border...

maybe just a coincidence but the trucks that are Hecho en Mexico seem to be built better than the ones built here in the states... . :{

No coincidence, it's a documented fact. There are many post on that subject here on TDR.

They get a thumbs up from me on this one. :D Been a GREAT truck. Still have all of the original u-joints, too.
 
mine has original u joints to front to rear and 175,000 miles the transmission has been rebuilt and a new vp44 and lift pump. ok truck cant realy blame the transmission on it as the dealer that i had service it ruined it for me but its to late now .
