Michigan and all who can Meet?

I have talked with at least 6 members about having a get together here in Michigan. It can be whatever you want breakfast, lunch or dinner. Make it a meet to eat and then go some place like Cabela's, Bass Pro Shop or any place at all or swap it go some place then eat? I want to start it and see where it go's. So don't be shy and post what you think we can do to have a get together. Post times and dates you are able to do this. I am open other than Dec 25 and Jan 1st. Calling out Bill, Mark, Ian, John, Drew, Scott, Curtis, Lsfarms, Brian, Steve, Frank and Doc? And all who reads this. How do they say it Come on and get this party started !

If you guys talk to lsfarm I have a question that I need to go to the wise man at the top of the mountain. We have a lil debate goin on and require his expertise!!!!

Imagine an airplane is on the beginning of a massive conveyor belt, as wide and as long as a runway, and intends to take off. The conveyer belt is designed to exactly match the speed of the wheels at any given time, moving in the opposite direction of rotation.

The question is can it take off?

I'm up for a get together. This is a pretty slow time a year for me and I have a fair amount of free time so I could make it no matter what day you are thinking.



As far as the airplane question, given that scenario I do not believe the plane could take off. If it cannot generate any actual ground speed and airflow over/under the wings I do not think it can achieve any lift. (I'm sure I'm not using the right terms but I think I have the idea right).

As for the airplane; they don't gain speed by their wheels - they either use reaction force of jet engine or of prop on the air, so my vote is "it can take off normally".

I want to see dates and time and do you all mind staying at a hotel for the weekend? Where should we do it and when? I think the plane would take off pretty normally. The wheel bearings would get a workout though.

I think the belt was going the wrong way when the Southwest flight tried to land the other day. My Father-in-law was on the jet right behind it and about to touch down, when the pilot saw them skid off the end of the runway. They pulled up at the last minute and diverted to KC I think.

I'll have to catch you all at the next one or organize a get together up this way.
