White regular cab Dulley with SWEEEEEEEEEETTTTTT STACKS, TDR, GLTDR and Black mountain Diesel stickers in back window. Parked in the lot of Home Depot in Ypsilanti at aprox 300pm. Whoevers this truck is I LOVE the Stacks. First thing I saw when I pulled into the lot and automatically thought, "Thats gotta be a TDR member!"

J-

This has GOT to be one of US!

Although I did not see any TDR badges/ETC on this truck as I drove by at 50mph but tell me this guy aint one of "US. "

Black 2500 ( i think extended cab) with Flames down the side and big ol' stacks. Sitting in drive in Ann Arbor. Sweet looking truck and impossible to miss!.

If any one knows that he is NOT a member I'll drop a fly on the truck next time I'm out that way.

J-

J, did it have the stacks outside the bed? If so, he (actually I think the truck is "hers") is one of "us", he/she/they are also GLTDR members (however his/her/they're name escapes me). :D

Later, Rob

I just saw the other TDR member at Duncan Dohnuts again I think I got his attention this time:D with my new 370s and the wind blowing toward the parking lot... . well you get the picture;)

Spotted a TDR member today at Oakland Dodge, 2wd, white truck, if your at Oakland Dodge stop in and say "hi" . I'm Paul their trans tech. I just picked up my '03' ctd a few weeks ago, since then 2 other techs bought new ctd's.

U guys got good service out there? I would be willing to drive a ways ( from ann arbor) to get good service from techs that actually drive and know the trucks they work on.

BTW whats the LP specs on a 2001 2500 auto? none of the other dealers seem to know (or care)

J-

Rick, Oakland Dodge is on the SW corner of 14 mile and John R.

J, We do a pretty good job in our service department, however, DC has really tied our hands on some warranty issues. None of the techs would go out of thier way to point out any bombing to the warranty nazis. If you want, call me before you bring your truck in and we can discuss things. Most of our techs are pretty good, but every shop has it's "special mechanics".

As for the LP specs, I will look them up tomorrow and get back to you.

Paul

thanks paul,

Not too worried about being bombed all i have is a scotty II and i still have a stock air box "just in case" But I had a 5 star dealer deny warranty work on a trans cooler line leak "because of all the turbo and performance mods" That being a scotty II and SPA boost/EGT gauage. The trans line leak was at the primary cooler fittings(auto), (which a tech told me just before the service manager denied service), were a poor design and they had replaced several sets in the previous months. No wonder the "S" word has been burned into my brain every since then. And he refused to put in writing why he was denying service.

The whole LP question has been getting to me too. Have called/stopped by no less then 6 dealers ref psi for the pump and have received 6 different answers. Everything from "as long as there is positve pressure, its fine and wont be a warranty issue" to the ever popular, "u r just within spec, keep an eye on it. " and just about every thing in between.

Sorry to vent, but my I plan on having my truck at 500K and it only has 24K on it now.

Thanks for your help with the numbers.

You should have requested to talk to a dc warranty rep about those cooler lines. Its too bad that some service managers do that, it really makes all dealers look unreasonable.

In regards to your line pressure question (LP), I looked them up today and here they are for the 48-RE.

indicator position throttle fwd. throttle rearward

low 50-60 psi 90-96psi

2 same same

drive same same

reverse 145-175 psi 230-280 psi

overdrive 76-82psi closed throttle,100-130psi 1/2 to 3/4 throttle,

140 psi wot.

I hope this helps. Its straight from the 03 DR service manual. page 21-323.

That did not turn out well at all. I tried to put it in a table form. Well here is the written form. In low, 2, and drive with the throttle fwd. the pressure should be 50-60 psi. , with the throttle rearward they should be 90-96psi. Reverse should be 145-175 throttle fwd and 230-280 rearward. In overdrive 76-82psi at closed throttle, 100-130psi at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and up to 140psi at wot. I hope this helps.

thats my error Paul I need to know Lift Pump pressures for my truck. After re-reading my last post it was confusing talking about transmissions. sorry

thanks for your help

J, the lift pump pressure according to the 03 DR service manual is 9. 5 psi minimum. It gives no other specs for different throttle positions. Hope this helps.

Who WAS That?

On the way home, in a construction zone on I-69 near Coldwater, I passed a green Ram going the other direction. I was looking at the truck and never saw a face, but right after I heard "That you Hammer?" over the radio.

Not sure if it was his or my radio (probably mine, my antenna is JUNK) not working right, but I never got an answer to my reply.

Who was that?
