Well guys, i have to say that I really disapointed in my South Bend OFE that I install about a year ago. I am already getting some slippage in 6th gear when you light it up and now in the lower gears it is starting to slip as well. I called them and they said well, your right on the border line for the FE so you should have stepped up. I just think that sucks, but hey I guess i underestimated my truck. I would understand If I was doing big 3rd gear launches with it but I never have. Guess its time to look at something else!!

Did you talk directly to Peter? The other employee's won't make the same deals as Peter can/will. If you didn't talk directly with him call him on Thursday (he takes Wednesdays off) ;)

Hey Joe you want my mailing address? I'll take as many as you want to give, just let me know what I owe you. ;) :D

I talked with Woody at South Bend. I tried to talk with Peter but he was with another customer at the time, so I figured id give this dude a try. Like I said before, I wasnt impressed. But I may try Peter again on Thursday. Thanks for the info about Peter not being there tomorrow, that will save me a call.

Talk to Peter, not woody! ;)

Woody's one of his brothers. He's a nice guy, but I've already got a rapport with Peter. Since my OFE was less than a year old, he was willing to make me a pretty good deal. I drove Gary's Dually (ZVT stg 1), and Anthony's 24v (ZVT stg 2). They both drive real nice, so I may give one of them a whirl... I'm headed to the garage to pop the Mach 3's back out and re-check my valves. So tomorrow, I'll re-evaluate my clutch and know better whether she'll last or not.

Since the garage is on my mind, what's your preferred garage music/tv/quiet? I'm feeling a little sleepy, so I think it's gonna be a big Mtn Dew and the latest Mudvayne CD. Gap refers to it as "Kill yo mama music" and gets a funny look on his face.

Mark,

I'm about to install my 2nd Haisley Street Drag Dual Disc. They are pretty amazing. The floater plate and the flywheel are both billet forged steel and the floater plate is bolted to the flywheel in 3 places by hinged steel tabs. The floater plate doesn't rattle or make any discernable noise. Another great thing is the pedal pressure is the same as stock and the gears shift as well as a stocker at any RPM. I know you were asking Joe but he probably has no idea why he is using Haisley. He just thinks the name sounds cool!

Hey Joe,

Mom and Dad gone yet? You can have 1/2 a day off tommorrow. ;)

I know they made a good product, just have never had any first hand experience with it. I got my SBC DD used from a buddy of mine on my KY club site for a very good price so that's why I run what I run. ;) I had a couple of buddies who ran the Haisley Street Pullers in a 98 12V & A '02 6spd in KY and stayed in the top 5 at every pull... they make good stuff! :D

As for the rest of that post... . #ad

Well... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Mark is alive.

Haven't seen you post in a while and didn't see you at Joe's on the 20th. Shay wasn't there either. What's going on over there in Sumner county?

Joe and Meacham, I haven't been through but one tank since the 20th, but it showed @1. 5 mpg increase. We'll see on the next one. My gasser hotrod buddy says she's FAST too. I told him he needs to ride in Joe's. ;) And Meacham, I haven't forgot you, my wife and both kids have had the flu and now it's too cold to mess with those DV's. Let me know if I need to do something different. Thanks.

Shay has wedding plans going on currently along with The Guard keeping him busy. Oh yeah did I mention the wedding is in Louisiana?! :--)

I'm around... . been busy... . trying to keep our heads above water... . trying to keep from telling my boss where to stick my job  ... . just a day at a time. Sorry I had some personal things going on the 20th and couldn't make it. Seems like it was a good event.

Scott we may need to relocate my CB just like you did yours after all. The Mrs. and I aren't to impressed with the over head shelf version... its too low.

Thinking of possibly trying to french it into the dash in the center section below the stereo?

Mark

You all know what it's like to be a newlywed don't ya, that is why you haven't herd much from mark. . like he said "been busey" :-laf

Joe

PS i can't believe i just said that

Mark, if mr, mevins thinks his banjo bolt is sooooo much better than mine, i think you should stop by his shop and get one.

if mr, mevins thinks i like the haisley clutchs because of the name he is crazy, i would run them if they had a name like "the slipper dule disc clutch"

Andy, if mr, mevins thinks his mach 3s would make your trk "FAST" without a good clutch like "the slipper dule disc clutch" again he is crazy.

Joe

Dammit man, take a day off and lookit yall go posting crazy.

Thanks for the headsup on the truck. I'll check on the 3500 next week--right after I sell a kidney to pay property tax.

WHOOPS, I must only speak of diesel things to keep Meacham from skipping over my post. :p  :-laf ;).

I have many many miles on the old 12. 25 OFE in the 24v. I've slipped it twice attempting 3rd gear launches. Still holds fine. I HAVE slipped the wife's 13" FE a couple of times--first time was a downshift to third and WOT through a curve (in front of a dudleymax-a race of sorts)... good news is that all the diesel and clutch smoke made the dudleymax give up. :-laf :-laf Another FE slip was trying to light those damm 35" tires. 32 or 33 next time.

No matter who you talk to at SBC, they usually offer you a good deal on what you need when you have to R&R a clutch even if it IS your fault. Of course I've got nothing against the PURPLE team either... PYMTYT.

I can pick a banjo bolt. ;)

I like where my CB is mounted. I pop-rivited the bracket to the dash below the AM/FM... but it's not as big as a 148. It's the one just below that--bout like a 29. Roger?

Somebody is talking about taking a ham test. I won't blow his cover... I'll let him announce his callsign when he gets it... whoops, that ain't diesel... Don't tune out Meacham. :D

Hey SCOTT. I'll do the swap. I think I'll integrate that piece with some more SS and have a whale of a Brushgard/Bumper/Winch mount.

And

As

Always...

Meacham's got Port-a-Power!

Good deal Wade. First chance I get I'll drive down and swap wiccha.

I know I told a couple of you at Joe's that my boy had pneumonia. He was well for 4-5 days then he came home from school with the flu. My daughter, then my wife, got it and they are just now getting over it. J. D. was good Monday but now he has a severe stomach virus that's going around.
