I talked to Dennis at TS Performance yesterday. They are having an open house on May 6th. Includes free lunch, and free dyno (portable unit). He said the entire group is MORE than welcome to crash the party if we want.

It's at Beach Bend in KY (near Bowling Green). There will be Drag Racing at the strip there this year, and he hopes to have a pulling track built there for next year's bash.

I'm definately gonna hit it... can't pass up free food and free dyno. I vote making this our next meeting. It'd also be a good place to show off some new SHIRTS! :)

Here's who said it! :D

Mark - the link you posted it a "Diesel Challenge" thing. Perhaps that's not the same as the Open House that Andy was referring to.

Well Damn, he told us it was free food free dyno... That's from the horse... but horses and young ladies are known for lying. :(

Your a betta tester for them right now, right? I'm thinking maybe they are planning on covering your fee or something and maybe you just misinterpreted it into a completely free dyno for all.

Oh well its going to be David Dunbar doing it, and he is just about the only dyno I will get on so I have no problem paying for it. :D Oo. At least I still have time to set aside $65! :-laf

Mark,

We're not testers as far as I know. The units we were given is the same unit sold to anyone. No calls or contact from anyone to me. I think we just happened to benefit from someone else's argument :p

I talked to Diesel Power and Dixie yesterday. Bottom line is that to bench the pump, set the timing, and test the injectors will run between $1000 and $1400 depending on how long it takes and if there is anything wrong. They both told me that I may have an injector down and that I need to do the timing. I'm pretty sure I can handle the injectors. Figured if I'm going to take them out I probably ought to put something else in there. I'm not looking to go hog wild, say somewhere between 250-350HP maybe. What do you all recommend? Anybody have some laying around that didn't quite satisfy your hunger for power? I was initially looking at a different cam plate and maybe the 3K GSK. I already have the BHAF and straight pipe. Gauges are laying on the bench.

Marine 370's - the injector of choice! I think the gain is somehwere between 80 - 100 horsepower with those. I'm sure Mark will chime in here. He and Wade are the guru's on the 12V.

Scott - I have seen the 370's as low as $330 on eBay. Search for "Cummins injectors" and they will show up there.

I notice that Mark has "PDR 370s. " I don't know if that is an altered form of the marine injector from Piers or what. I believe that they are close to $400 on his site.

I would try eBay. They're new OEM injectors from Bosch. If you have some patience, you will probably be able to catch them on there when no one else is bidding and get them for the starting price. There's usually several sets on there.

Good luck!

I would not buy the Ebay injectors. Sorry, just not that trust worthy. PDR 370's are pop-off tested and a "matched set" of injectors. See if this tells you anything..... I bought a set of Marine 300 injectors from Mark that used to work @ PDR... ... . bout a year later Piers had his 370's on sale for $300 and I found someone to buy my 300's for $200 (what I paid for them ;) ) so I came outta pocket $100 for a better set of injectors! Oo. Anyhow once I got them swapped out I noticed two things right off the bat... the PDR's burn a lot better (reduced/slower climbing EGT's) and they smoke LESS than Marine 300's.

Pony up the cash and get PDR 370's they will support up to 600HP... . its been seen on the TDR! ;) On a 215 pump I believe they are a 60HP upgrade though.

Hans thanks for the 10! :p :-laf

T-shirt'ers... check the t-shirt thread. I will be ordering Wed. If you still want one, pls let me know b/f Wed. I will figure out a way to get your order/money.

Thanks,

Andy

Anyone hear about some idiot opening a diesel shop in Lebanon? I heard it's true. Sure would help a lot of Middle Tennessee TDR members.
