What is everybody's plans for heading up to IRP. I know Meacham and crew is heading up on Thursday.

Who all is going up on Friday and at what time?

Jay - I'm leaving Friday morning and plan to arrive at the Amerihost around check-in time. Not quite sure on the exact time yet. I was wanting to stop at TST and the Cummins store on the way up but I've about ruled out TST (don't know if anyone would even be there) and a visit to the Cummins store wouldn't take long. Those are my only planned stops besides fuel in Franklin, KY and lunch.

My problem is I poke along like a little granny on the interstate and most of you would run off and leave me. I got 21. 4 MPG on the way back from NC on one fill up and want try to do it again. What can I say - I'm a cheapskate. :p

Give my cell a ring and we'll talk more about it if you want. (931) 306-9161.

EDIT:

On second thought, I may not even stop at the Cummins Store. They probably don't have anything new and it would keep me from having to drive through Columbus. It looks like it will take about 7 hours to get to Indy from Hohenwald so I'll probably leave about 8:00 am. Probably get there around 3:30 or 4:00 with a couple of stops.

This is interesting - Indy is acutally in the Eastern time zone but those goofballs up there in that part of Indiana don't observe daylight savings time! So it's the same time up there as it is here - weird.

I'd love to have a diesel jetta if I was not built like a neanderthal man. Co-worker has one, runs high 40's mpg! It will bust 50mpg on the interstate.

Kozin's little jetta is a screamin' little 5spd demon. I pick on him and hit tiny little squealing turbo. He did injector nozzles a few weeks ago. Really woke the lil girl up.

There's actually two of them now, Ken Ginden just bought one.

An after-work meeting would be great on my end. Would be kinda hard for me to leave work for a 4 hour lunch break. :-laf

Friday the 1st is fine with me. ;)

As for small diesel pickups, I found out last night that my 'suzu is putting down 58 hp at 4300 RPM and has a peak torque rating of 93 ft lbs! :D I'm still working on that thing - gonna get started on the body/paint after IRP. I'm hoping that I will be able to coax this one into getting over 40 MPG when it's all said and done!

Put a 4BT in it. :--)

Yeah, ya'll meet up on the 1st. Maybe I can make it. I'm moving _all_ the crap out of my old shop today, plus a trampoline and all the I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER piled up outside. Have already made about 14 runs with the horse trailer. I think 3 or 4 more with the full 8' bed on the red truck (box is out) will do it. And the good news is that the dump is closed today. Gotta save the trash for last.

HEY GAP--what's the deal with Red's truck? the white one :D

Called the guy back this morning about my interview, he said my record came back clean and I was ready to go! Oo. Oo. Oo.

Now I just gotta wait till after this weekend and get all this pain medicine out of my system since I had two teeth pulled this mornig. :( :{

Looks like I get to go do a drug test, and turn in my 2wks on Monday! Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Hey Mark, glad to here about the job. Now you will have more money and can pull the sled more.....

HH, I am planning on leaving sometime Friday morning. I will give you a call Thursday. Might be able to caravan up there. Heck, if you have a good tow strap, you can tow me up there :-laf

Probably won't make it to the July 1 meeting. Will be heading somewhere for the 4th. Guess I had better hurry up and decide where I am going.

Thanks for the compliments guys! This job will let me get some more stuff for pulling on down the road... . namely a Turbo! I'm really excited about it. Oo. Oo. Oo. ..... that's if you couldn't tell. Its got morehours, more PAY! Oo. , AND benefits. So I can't wait to get back Monday and take care of everything else and throw my 2wks notice at 'em! #@$%! :-laf

Only downfall to this job is I'm gonna have to find out where the guy does most of his deliverys and study me a map real quick. :???:

We're still leaving Friday evening after Anna get's off of work. We'll have truck full with gear and fuel so we can drive righ though. I heard the Diesel vs. Import deal got trashed over on my KY site though guys. Sorry. :(

Congrats Mark, keep moving UP.

So, Jay is it easier to build boost these days? What with all that friction coming back from the drivetrain... :D So, how bad did you roast that OEM clutch before you got one of Peter's products? :-laf

By gotty danm, I can just taste the feel of that 3600#, 12-button job he recommended for my application (Green truck is getting sticked). And am getting excellent service in the 24v.

Did I ever tell yall how I hate automatics? Not that I don't have a good one, and they are the quickest on the strip. But I'm sick of jerking the lever on the column and punching the O/D button and flipping the TQ lock switch...

My next truck will be an auto... ... this one would have been had I known other companies (like Dave Goerend) existed instead of $5K-$6 3-letter companies like ATS & DTT. Coulda save a lot of money that way! :(

Spotted a panel truck conversion today. 5. 9 is pretty snug in there. Too bad it's a 160 pump. I'll sneak some photos later.

Also put the "fordcummins.com" bug into a 460 owner's ear. He complained about torque. I provided the best answer I knew.

What about an after work meeting instead?

I hate going back to work after a TDR lunch..... What time does every body get off work? 3:30 myself.

.

I'll be at Joe's getting me some tars on my truck the first right after work. Might sneak some on the ol minivan too... . leaving after that and headed to Paris Landing to do the 4th of july thing. Gonna watch fireworks from the boat... . can't make that day.

Congrats on the job Gotomus Smokomus, No more AC for you in the lawncare business... or are you working at the shop?

Ol mans truck is sitting in the shop collecting dust. He don't have time, busy season with the storm shelters and I haven't either. Still need to pull the pump off and retime it on the stand. Put it back on and see what we broke... . or maybe we'll get lucky and it'll start... . just got a feeling she's gonna "clankity clank" when we do start it. It's still pushing oil out the dipstick at about a quart a stroke. Needless to say it makes a mess trying to crank. Probably gonna have to roll up our sleeves and dig in.

Well normally I don't get off until 5:00 but obviously I'll have to leave a little early that day (no big deal). You guys just set a time and I'll try to be there. I may have a problem making a 4:00 meeting though unless I can find some business excuse to come to Nashville. ;)

Depends on if the delivery trucks have A/C or not Holedigger! :p :-laf

I'm being hired on as a delivery truck driver for John Deere Landscapes in Gallatin on Long Hollow Pike. Not quite sure where all it will take me exactly, but I plan to start studying maps very soon. This job pays more, has better hrs, allows overtime, and has benefits. With all of that I will gladly say goodbye to Wal-Mart. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Probably will have to miss Scheid Extravaganza this year though. :{

don't know if this will work for ya'll as a harmonic balancer and engine fan shield, but dhra requires a piece of metal from frame to frame for the guard. would that work? the fan and balancer would be enclosed on all 4 sides by metal then.

Meacham, THANKS for the birthday present! This will definately be the best ever!

Check Out the Custom Shifter

Hey guys - I'm up here at the Amerihost and finally found some time to post a couple of pictures of my custom shifter that TDR member JeffWhite of North MS Tool made me last weekend. It's a 24" piece of polished SS with an African Rosewood shifter knob from Rockwood Products that's made for a two-stick Peterbilt transmission.

Whadda ya think? He'll be making them to sale for anyone that's interested in the near future. I'll post a thread on it in the coming week.

Prosthetic shifter for those with short shifter problems. :-laf

Really, I don't know if I'd like it that dang long. I guess I can try one first. Wouldn't want wood. I like the "cue-balls" that a TDR member was doing before he went to Hawaii.
