decisions

Some decisions are hard to make. Turbo, box, plate, injector, auto... I just ain't easy as it looks being a Cummins Bomber.

I suppose that's a big part of what keeps this place ticking.

The red one is about where I want it. It'd be nice to roll a cool 500 on the dyno, but I'm not going to get there nearly as quickly as I went from 210 to 473. When I get that itch I may try a Marco ECM (I have a spare now!) and an EDM injector. Between here and there is a supply pump, front suspension, ATS manifold, drain for the ice box, windshield, lineX, an attempt to level it, et cetera.

I think the DDUFM replacement that Keith sent me is a tad different than the old one. I am running this one on _X4 instead of _X3. Doesn't seem as smokey BUT the turbo spools better on the 4 subsetting. And as I've found before, the 2700 no-defuel point is disabled in all of level 5. I've seen it stated a few times that the no-defuel is level 5x5 only (comp/drag or UFM/race). Both UFM's I've had don't defuel in 5x3 or 5x4 either. I dyno tested theory on the old one. 5x3 and 5x5 gave same peak HP with no dip at 2700. 3x5 started dropping at 2700.

Hey any of us 2nd Gen guys running the Lukes Link? I am in need of a trac bar or trac bar repair, ON TOP OF a Master Cylinder :rolleyes: :{ :{ :{

So I was thinking of doing the Trac Bar for 1/2 the going price and rebuild mine with a Lukes Link. I know that there's been plenty of difference opinions on the board itself, just wondering if any of our close nit group has had any experience with this product.

Hey Jay you still want these Alloy's right?

I'll sell 'em to ya cheaper than you can find any aftermarket alloys

Yeah Mark, still interested in your alloys. Let me know when you are ready to work a deal.

dangit

Stinkin diesel trucks, spend a day or two reading up on stuff, and I GOTTA buy something.

Just bought a B1-2, used of course. Maybe the green truck will like it. Will try to break it in at the Mooretown pull on June 4. :D

Hey, there's a Dodgezilla 35/40 14wg for $850 in the classifieds. Them's good turbos too. Mine is hanging tough. It's seen 45+psi many times, but I try to limit it to 40. :D . Stays well within my EGT comfort zone. ;) Spools dandy. Anybody is welcome to drive mine and see.

Walking distance. I used to walk to it, before I started pulling.

Hope I don't have to walk home anytime soon. :{ Good thing I don't have a lot of power. :-laf

Hey Wade I've got a Zero Plate you can borrow for the pull if you want! :p :-laf

I'm sure some of you are aware that Mopar offers a tow hook kit with brackets to sandwhich the front frame for strength, hooks, and hardware for like $150.

Well a guy over on one of my 4x4 websites (PavementSucks.com) is make similar brackets (just brackets) for $45 shipped. Then you just find a set of suitable hooks to mount to them and you have a nice set of front tow hooks. Something a Dodge really needs to help pull all the other things around without having to wrap a chain around the reciever hitch. :-laf

Here's some pictures, and at the very bottom I will include a link to the thread on PS.com. Its free to join so if any of you want a set of brackets just take a minute to sign up and send the guy a PM, or maybe I can get an email addy from him? Oh the tow hooks pictured are from what another member used, they came off the front of a late 80's early 90's chevy truck. I'm watching several sets for CHEAP on ebay right now as my brackets will be here in a couple of days. Oo.

Hey guys, I just got caught up. I'm currently vacationing in Topsail Island, NC. I just remembered this morning that I had won an ebay auction last Friday and ran down here to this incredibly expensive internet cafe to settle up with the seller.

I'll probably be back in Mid-Tenn late Sunday night. Gonna make a few stops on the way home.

Take 'er easy. ;)

HH, you may want to give John Porterfield (John_P) a ring. He is just down from you in Holly Ridge and has two wild red rides. He is retired from the North Topsail Beach police. Tell him Daniel sent ya.

Mark,

I really hope that he paints those brackets for you. The ones pictured are not painted and will rust in no time.

Yeah, look up John P if you have time. He's got a SWEET 12v. I met him at Cynthiana a couple of light years ago.

I'd love some hooks up front for pulling logs and whatnot, but I do shudder a bit at the thought of bolting GM parts onto my truck. :p

So many things to do. The 12v transmission is leaking (the dip tube I think), the front end needs parts, the valves need to be adjusted and gaskets put on, the BHAF is filthy, tires are needed. Then the 24v has a pump to be installed, front end sounds like it's falling off, fuel filter is due, 5-inch is still clanking around, toolbox is loose, etc.

SO you boys learn how to drink beer while you mow? :D Buddy of mine with a wife and three young daughters and a family business can knock out 3 beers on the front yard alone! It's his "quiet" time. Looks like I'm headed in the same direction. The halibut is my mower requires two hands at all times. Guess I wasn't drinking straight when I bought that thing.

We closed on the property today and now I've got my first bank note in years--and it's a DOOZY. 3389 John Bragg Hwy--we'll get it dressed up and rolling here in a few weeks. Anybody with spare time on their hands is welcome to help me move stuff for peanuts and beer. ;)
