Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

skull mount is what I like. But it's too late if the antlers have been sawed off.

Iron sights--plenty good enough. And cheap and durable and don't fog up when an excited hunter breathes on 'em.

Would like to get a small 257 or 250 for the girls. Going to get a midget . 22 first.

Start 'em young and whizz off a liberal. :-laf

Remington started a "managed recoil" line of the popular calibers. ~50% of normal recoil. Ethan was using a . 270 with 115gr and they worked great.

mark, how many times are you gonna have the readers rig pic this month? at least they got the right pic this time.

Yeah but that's a far cry from what she looks like now. :-laf

Nice to get some recognition though. :D

Also got my latest TDR mag today and the July Chapter meeting is in there! Oo. Oo. The pic of everybodies truck in my driveway looked pretty good. If I had known it was going to the TDR mag I'd of made Terry swap spots with me. :p :-laf

Only prob is Hans write up made it sound like I was a new member just joining?  :p

Got my 96 on the road last night. BIG BIG thanks to Joe, Dale and Gap. We started at around 5PM and rolled it out of the shop at about 10:30.

Runs strong. Timing seems to be way off... I'll have to get that looked at at some point.

I had to put a thermostat in it before work this morning, then drove it in. So far so good.

So I reckon the thermostat fixed it? Is it still heading up? She reading a temp now? Got heat? Top hose getting hot? You know i need more details than, so far so good.

Wife immediately noticed you on the side road. She seen the stacks and smoke and said that has to be one of your dork buddies! :D

Yeah, I got up and hit the parts house first thing this morning. Swapped out the thermostat. It ran up to about 190* pretty quick, but was still belching collant out the overflow tank. I eased up the pop off valve thing on the radiator cap and it started spewing air and cooland out the overflow. So, I slowly did that for about 15 minutes, and got all the air pretty much bled out of it. No more foaming. She cruises at about 200*.

I also noticed that it was low on oil (cold of course). So I topped that off, and will continue to monitor. Actually, I'll probably do a lube, oil and filter change over the weekend.

Andy,

I did a flush and fill on mine last fall and it was 2 days before my guage worked again. I don't know if the t-stat stuck open or if the sending unit just didn't work.

Anyway, running empty mine will heat up to right at 190* and then fall back to around 160*-170* and do it again. This is normal. I would be worried if mine hit 200* running empty much less stayed there. Matter of fact on these cool mornings I may run 3-4 miles before mine gets to 140*.

Let me know if you need some assistance.

Hey, when do we pay for the t-shirts?

Scott

Errr... I might need some assistance thenm Scott... Thanks.

My 03 ran those temps, so I didn't think much about it.

I also noticed quite a bit of rust inside the thermostat housing. Although, the coolant looks to be okay (Green not brown).

I did notice that the gauge would drop to the 160* range and then climb back up over and over again. I was kinda wondering about that. Glad it's normal.

On the T-Shirt deal, that's not dead. I'm still waiting on some artwork from Scott (Graphic Man). I'll follow up with him and see where he's at. We may have to proceed with the original logo, I was just hoping to have something different. ... and to have it sooner.

Prayers Please!

I would like to ask for prayers for my fiance and her family. Today they lost a uncle, her fathers older brother. He was diagnosed with cancer only two weeks ago. Had his first treatment yesterday and could not move at all afterwards. This morning he slipped into a coma, and he passed between 2:30 & 3 this afternoon. :(

Please keep myself, her & her family in your prayers. I had a very scary experience myself today after watching a guy from oncoming traffic run off the road then flip his car in front of me. Then crawling down the enbankment to make sure he was still alive. :--) Thankfully he was and unhurt.

To much for me in one day. :(

Now how do you figure that?

Says something along the lines of "then Harris' was asking about gauges, blah, etc. " after the "initiation is a ride in a 500HP truck" part. No biggie just didn't sound right?

HeavyHauler said:
You may need to read that a little closer, Mark. Your name is not even in that paragraph.

Hans I said it was not a problem, but since you want to drag it out. I replied to your PM also.

The first order of business was new member initiation. The indoctrination requires a ride in a 500HP truck. By the end of the day Harris was already asking questions about gauges and injector upgrades

Ok, the editor screwed this one up. That's not how I sent it to them. These guys are just like the editors at our local newspaper.

The link below is how it should have read:

maybe "way" off is an exxageration. Where something seems to "not be right" is most evident in 2nd gear. Coming from 1st or starting in 2nd, the power isn't there in second gear. The RPM's will run up to about 3k and it seems to be defueling all the way up there (sounds weird I know). It doesn't make much noise, no smoke, and no power. In addition, sometimes it sputts and sputters, stumbles, butcks, jumps, etc... Come 3rd gear, it's a whole other story. Mucho power, boost, smoke and smiles. Same for 4th and 5th.

Andy,

I'd say 2nd gear, running empty, is not enough load to get the boost up before defueling starts. Just my uneducated opinion. Mine is very similar but worse because I don't have GSK yet. 2nd gear is over too quick to get any good power going. 3rd and up, hold on to your hat! I've got to get a LS for my diff.

Scott

Scott,

Maybe that's it.

Maybe we can hook up briefly this weekend. Maybe Sunday afternoon in Springfield. I'd like to let you drive it and see what you think. ?? Have you got a few minutes then?

I wanna see that big ol pyro anyway. :D
