got an address for the Springfield?

Kimber,

I live in Springfield but I don't have a street address. Coming from Nashville I'd go 24W toward Clarksville, get off at exit 35 and bear to the right north on Hwy 431 straight into Springfield. Turn left onto Hwy 49 just past Sonic and you can't miss it. The pull is part of the Fair, so traffic will probably be crowded around the Fair Grounds, but again, you can't miss it. I'm planning to be there.

Springfield Pull

Anyone else going besides Scott, Joe and the almighty Slapper? I plane on heading that way.

Scott, I sent you a pm.

Anthony

Congratulations to Old Smokey! :D

In the 6200# class, Shoeless Joe Squaretire(You'll have to ask him about that! )piloted Old Smokey to a first place pull with 303'.

Add a little weight, exchange Shoeless Joe for The Slapper, and Old Smokey pulled her out to 314' for another first place in the 7200# class.

They also made a good showing in the 8200# class but I'm not sure what they ended up with.

No breakage from the Dickson Crew except that Dale's clutch might need a little attention. Good to meet Anthony and Shay and to see Andy, Steven, and Mark. Mark left his toys at home so let's get together and give him a little encouragement to bring his truck to Dickson next Thursday night. ;)

Scott

Congradulations are very deserving to Joe & Gap for finally getting some awesome shake down runs on 'Ol Smokey!! Oo. Oo. Oo.

That truck was running AWESOME tonight! :D

I also want to congradulate ALL of you for making me feel sick about not having my truck there. :{ Your all very good at it.

I will see what I can do about coming to play next week. I will have to hurry up and get my weight bracket fixed if I do come.

Joe you said I didn't need to bring a trailer down right? As long is there is one around I could have either Shay or Anthony haul me back home if it came to it?

i said there would be a trailer to haul you to my shop so i could fix what broke ;)

Had a goodtime. Glad to see everyone again and meet new faces and put them with screen names.

Congrats to Ol Smokey. I think it had something to with the pit crew. The Slapper just had to suit up and drive. :)

I'll see if I can get a pass from home and make it to the Dickson pull.

Anthony

Your right anthony, you guys ruined me! I was politicing all night and then I'd get a tap on the shoulder, " You gonna drive?" Ol Smokey would be up at the line door open read to go with a couple of knuckleheads on the bumper or the running boards being the diesel dorks that we are! So, I'd through on the fire suit and helmet and climb through the window.

I really appreciate all the work you guys did. I've said it plenty of times before, but there is a comrade ship with these cummins owners that can't be beat! I don't know what it is but these guys will literally take their boots off for ya!

I'm blessed to have friends like ya'll. Ya'll make daddy proud!!!

I know, I know, I'll quit now.....

Now that's funny :D

Belt, wallet, cell phone, even removed all non essential contents from inside cab that wasn't bolted down to make weight.

No one can say Joe isn't a team player. I've heard the saying "give you the shirt off his back" before, but the boots off his feet. :-laf

Oil question...

I am getting to that time that I need to change my oil, I have been using Rotella Synthetic and I am curious to know what you all use and like. I have heard lots about Amsoil and Royal Purple, is it worth the extra money or are synthetics all about the same?

Congrats to Gap and Joe for the Springfield show!!! It was awesome to those that didn't get to make it. Joe, when you gonna post the pics from it?

Thanks in advance, Shay

Well, I just returned from the trip to Colorado and the old Dodge performed flawlessly. Our fuel mileage for the trip averaged to about 11. 75mpg, but that was hauling butt coming and going. My favorite part of the trip was the two gass burners Fords I was traveling with. We started up Loveland Pass just west of Denver with a bigger trailer, more wheelers and a lot more truck, and just cruised up it in 5th gear w/ about 18lbs of boost and the EGT's sitting at about 1000. About 20 minutes later the Gassers arrived at the hotel and one said, "I guess a turbo makes a difference" and I replyed "No, the Cummins is what makes the difference!!"

On my 03, I ran Rosemella and Amsoil. I had analysis done on both. The Rosemella always came back with better numbers.

For my . 02, Run Rotella-T and change it every 7500. It's cheap, it's easy to get, and the numbers come back great.

FWIW, I run Mobil1 or AMSoil in everything else I own and have owned. But the diesels always get good 'ol Rotella.

I've always run Rotella myself. Can you IMAGINE how many miles have been run on Rotella? The Amsoil man tried to talk me into a bypass filter and his synthetic. It's just way too expensive, hard to get, and like I said, the Rotella is proven. Shucks, I think you can even buy Rotella at The Tater Shack in Dickson. ;)

Scott

Welcome back JMBryant, that's a good one... "20 minutes later" :D

Can I get a Woop Woop for Rotella? It is hard to beat that ol dinosaur juice!

I 2nd Andy, cheap, buy it anywhere and I've personally seen several with 700K, 800K and even 1million miles running on rotella. My old man was a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic for years (Longer than most of us are old, but meacham!). They all dump in the Rotella, so pour the stinky stuff in and let'r roll coal!

Cool, makes me and my wallet feel better!!! Thanks for the replies gentlemen!!! Guess I will have to swing by Wally World and get some Rotella T Synthetic and then get the Stratopore (? sp) filter from Geno's and then it's messy weekend for me and the truck. Talk to you all later, Shay

I saw that. Man I'm sure you're like me in that you want your truck to only have the best. But I'm here to tell you plain old $7 white gallon jug Rotella is what the truck wants.

I even ran Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme (the bottle with the Cummins logo on it: "endorsed BY Cummins"). Did an oil analysis on it after 5k miles and 7500 mile old Rotella still had better numbers. Even having analysis on Rotella done at 7500, I NEVER got a report that said "change oil".

You can put in what you want, but it has been my experience that running synthetic in our motors doesn't gain you anything but a lighter wallet.

Run plain dino Rotella - Sleep good at night knowing your trucks gonna run forever - do regular oil samples - take your fiancee' out more often with the money you save.
