Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

We were 40 miles from home without a dogbox. Good thing the girls weren't with us.

Hell, it'll go away eventually. MOF it'll be comPLETELY gone when I swap that 24v off. :p :p :p

So I give er the ketchup bath and all and I'm blasted tired and fall off into the bed and the wife gets home and sez, HEY did the dog git sprayed, AND did it happen here? And Oh LORD the truck! :-laf Good thing you's in the 24v.

Hey anybody want to go in 50/50 on a Gibson F mandolin? It can be bought for about half price, but I've only got 25% price. :( We could swap out, alternate months or something until I hit the lotto and give it to ya and buy me another one.

Gotta go git somemore firewood. Wife burns that stuff all the time.

And caffeine, I think I'm rambling. :-laf

Gibson F mandolin

What year is it? The Gibson F style is a very sessy mando.

See if they'll take a late model Fender Strat in as partial trade. :) I've got mine for sale to fund parts and stuff anyway.

Hey, a nibble!

No Gap I didn't say "nipple". :p

I haven't looked closely at it yet. It was "full price" last time I was up there and I was afraid that if I touched it, it might follow me home.

I'm going up there tomorrow and check out all the stuff. Full report later.

If they've got anything worth anything in the 6 or 12 string persausion, holla. I don't care so much for them 8 stringer types... . but at the right price...

2000 3500 4x4 Quad 5 sp Patriot Blue 86k new injection pump and LP, new tires available with or without 2005 28' with 14' slideout 5th wheel camper. It's in AR, but should be back to my place end of the month or so.

I let you know Andy.

Otay, went and looked. All the Martins and Gibsons are gone oh my. Just one "made in USA" banjo and the F-9 mandolin. F-9 is a "plain jane" version of the F-5. No inlays or binding, tobacco brown, no pickguard (easily remedied). New or as new 2003. I know it's been in that shop for over a year.

He's got a bunch of beginner stuff and an accustic bass, dobro, etc. Think I might try to get the whole shebang down here and sell it on consignment. That'll give me time to seef I really want the F-9. And might give Andy an excuse to come out here toward the mountain.

My doors don't have locks, but I gotter . 45 and a . 44 and a 12 and a couple (dozen) other weapons of homeland security close at hand most all the time.

Did they say "Hollis Creek" on the news? They had a crash down here about that time and local reports said that they wuz a lookin up that holler.

I can see it from here, hence our bidness name "Hollis Creek Antiques". Be open until 8pm Fri/Sat, yall bring your wifeys, they love this stuff. ;)

Andy, the man with the mandolin and other assorted axes came by yestiddy, I proposed on him about lettin me sell the stuff. Dunno what's going to come of that. I just wanted to pet that F9 while selling the rest of it. And on that note, I put my banjo back together and got the neck setup--reckon I'll try to learn a few more tunes on it.

BTW, Bean bought my high-bay lights. Now does anybody need a bigarse propane hangit-from-the-rafters type shop heater? There were two in here and we took one down. One is enough for 100x60x20-- if'n you don't fan the doors all day.

... Now for an APE-hanger shifter stick like they use down in Lewis Co. :D

BAD NEWS

Sadly, I had to lay my old shifter to rest a few weeks ago. :( The repeated stress of getting the truck into 1st gear and reverse finally made the shifter break at the top of the threads. Looking back, that 5/8" rod was taken down way too much when the threads were cut.

I'm in the process of procuring materials for another one. I'm probably gonna make this one out of aluminum hex rod, and the shift lever is going to have a female thread (instead of milling it down to a weaker male thread and using a coupler like we did on the old one) and is going to be a lot bigger in diameter than the old one.

I hope I can get with the same guy that did my other one before Christmas. He's really busy, but this factory shifter is driving me nuts.

OTHER BAD NEWS

My truck was broken into today in broad daylight in the parking lot of a high-end office complex in Memphis. It looks like all they had to do was insert a screwdriver into the driver's side door lock and pry down on it.

They destroyed my custom wood dash and stole my Alpine CD player along with my cell phone. They left the most valuable items in the truck: the $650 Smarty, my Connex CB radio which I have nearly $600 in, and an expensive pair of sunglasses. Oh, and for some reason they stole the glass out of my driver's side mirror. Not sure what the purpose of that was. They even carefully took the wires loose from the heater element.

Just goes to show you that you aren't safe anywhere in this town.

What is infinitely worse is that I have a $1000 deductible, so all of this is going to come out of my pocket.

So anyway, the dually has seen the last of Memphis, TN. I'm bringing the Isuzu back after Thanksgiving with no carpet, no headliner, no radio, 1 door panel, and 1 seat. I guess this will give me some motivation to get that little thing done.

Hans, that really sux about your truck being burglarized. These crack-head morons will do thousands of dollars of damage to a vehicle to steal anything they think they can sell real easy for their next drug "fix" :(

Sorry 'bout your truck Hans--coulda been worse, but I know it sucks as it is.

Real sorry about your mighty mighty gear stirring device. :D Get them bugs worked out and order me one. Scott sent me the little round knob--and then Cheryl laid claim to it.

Maybe I'll carve one out of hickory or something... oh wait I do have some bodock that's been sawed for about 14 years.

Door prize drawing, gotta go MC the thing.

Sorry to hear it Hans. I've been broken into three times. I know how it feels. In one of the three cases, they caught the guy. He went to criminal court and was ordered to pay me restitution. Hope you turn out to be that lucky in your case.
