I'd love to have a set of the OEM alloys, but didn't think they'd fit? Something about the brakes and tie rod ends.

Day after I brought her home.

After Skyjacker D25 2. 5" coils & 315 Courser C/T's

They will fit Andy, but you have to grind the outter most edge of the brake drum down to clear as they have 6. 5" of backspacing!

This won't affect your braking either, I've hauled heavy loads through different states before and never had any problems. Also, The tires will only rub your TRE's if you run a 12. 50 wide tire. In the first pic you can see my truck came with 235/85/16 BFG M/T's, and they had no problems with rubbing the TRE's. The 315/75/16's did rub however, but it never caused any probs and was only on deep turns.

It all boils down to personal opinion OEM's vs. aftermarkets though. As picky as your are about keeping your truck clean these would work well since they will keep the tires tucked under the truck. A set of aftermarkets will only have 4. 5" of backspacing generally and always keep your rocker panels dirty.

Oh That's your truck! and asking for info, '98 fuel pump.

OK Andy, I got confused, thought the Red truck was yours, now your Silver matches my Silver '05.

Hey Mid TN gang, got a neighbor with a '98 3500 no plans for engine mods, just wants reliability. He is catching on to the fuel pump problem with this truck, Question what system is a good choice to prevent injection pump failure? I know this has been a common topic, just asking for your been there, done that, opinions.

Thanks.

Silver truck is mine, I was just showing Andy OEM '02 Alloys can be made to fit! ;)

FASS pump one of the more reliable ways to ensure pump reliability. Several distributors to get it from too! ;)

Yeah, red truck is mine.

for a stock truck, I think they recommend the 96GPH FASS pump. It's supposed to be the cat's meow. Personally, I would probably just go with the glacier diesel walboro set up. It's mucho cheaper, and probably works just as good. It's not bombproof like the FASS pump though.

Well, if I went with the "02 alloys", I'd wanna run a 12. 50... so TRE's might be a problem. Shaving the drum is no big deal, I've got a buddy with a brake lathe. hmmmmm..... If I keep the steelies, I'm looking at the TRXUS 255x85x16. You're right about "most" aftermarkets only having 4. 5" of Backspacing... . BUT my boys at Billet Specialties will weld the centers at whatever measure of backspacing you want! :) Of course you're going to PAY PAY PAY for a set of those guys. Should'a never sold the set off my blue truck :(

BTW, our friend and brother Jay Sykes has spoken for the chrome fender trim. I've still got a lund bugshield with eyelashes for free, a drop in bedliner with a big square gooseneck hole for free, a diamondplate toolbox for sale, and diamondplate bed protectors for sale. Just throwing it all out there. I just want it out of my garage.

OK, not I got the who's who on the trucks, Andy does have the Corporate Race Red. What is the sticker on the fender above the Ram name?

Thanks guys for the comments on the pump, I think he is going to move on it fairly soon.

He is ex Navy, Submarine service. I "ahem" helped him get a ZVT and flywheel installation during a customer visit. They just came back from 3 weeks in Texas visiting the relatives, while he was there, he used his 2WD 3500 to pull out of a field an empty tandem axle flatbed that had not been moved in 15 years, buried to the frame in the dirt, tires rotted off, took a couple of hard jerks to get it started, bottom line, trailer now has new tires and serviced bearings, now in service. Clutch did it's job.

The sticker is actually a plastic "cab plate"

it contains the text "Cummins Power".

I haven't decided whether or not to remove it. I see a lot of OTR trucks with it on the front wheelwell.

Congrats on the CopCatcherRed ride.

Neat looking 3500-Flattie on ebay--but wrong pump. item # 150053322802

It's a quad 01 6sp with gauges, big bumper, and 305 BFG's!

Yeah--fass pump is what CCD put on Mom's VP truck.

 That is a nice looking 3500 Wade! I sure wouldn't mind having that one! :D Dual 305's on the back :--) that's A LOT of tire!

Go ahead and get it Wade... . just think. Mach Injectors, Pius turbo, Redline box, extra heavy valve springs w/ Titanium keepers & retainers and you would have a mean pulling truck. I know of a 3500 in KY with that setup that doesn't get beat unless he breaks.

Well if'n I hit the lotto, I'll buy the flattie AND BBD. Lotsa pretty good parts on the BBD. ;)

GRAND OPENING Tomorrow. We're in the fourth week of bidness. Hoopla day is tomorrow. They had me on the local radio station yestiddy. Come out and check out the store. Food and Music and Prizes tomorrow noon until six. Then--brace yourself-- a scrapbooking party. :p They're talking about monthly scrapping... . I'm thinking about monthly card game. :D

Gotta find time to put a wheel cylinder on Wifey's truck.

Didn't find time (to fix the brakes) and the 24v is leaking oil, so we're carpooling in the GreenMachine. Us and two dogs and a couple of rifles and other weapons of Homeland Security.

Donuts and Coffee are served and we ain't even open yet.

Hollis Creek Antiques is the nama this joint. Out here in the hinterlands near the 'Bury. I'm working off one if them overhangs. Caffeine Ibuprofen Nicotene maybe some Morphine if I can find it.

And here come the brownies...

Hey guys anybody know someone with a 94-97 stock driver side a-pillar laying around? I need one as quick as possible so color doesn't matter I'll paint it.

what happened to yours?

The previous owner, genious that he was tossed it. Then proceeded to install the gauges into a full replacement pod and GLUE it to the headliner at the top.

Scotts going to help me relocate me CB up to the cubby hole like his, but first I have to be able to take that pod down and reinstall it so I can run my power & coax cables for the CB.

Looking for RF problems?

I would keep my coax as isolated as possible (not up next to the gauges) if I were running any more than 25-30 watts on CB.

CB signals are quite broad by design--then you add not-so-linear amplifiers and the signal gets really wide and nasty (lack of filters). Looking for trouble I think.

Good luck with it, just don't look at your gauges when you're transmitting. Come to think of it, my EGT gauge bottoms out when I key the 2-meter--and my coax is nowhere near it. Granted that FM is wider than AM, but that's still only 50 watts on high-power. I'm usually running 25 watts on that thing.

Of course if it only makes the gauge read funny while you are transmitting--big whoop. Just don't want you frying your gauges with a "big radio".

Thanks for the input Wade. ;) I'm still hard headed because still wanna try it, since I won't be running with the linear on as much once I get this radio finished 60+ watt Connex 3300HP dual final. If in the event they do mess them up then I'll relocate the CB again use it as an excuse to buy some C2's! Oo. :-laf

I used to run a 2pill amp driving a 8pill back in my old white truck for a short period of time, and with everything on the EGT needle would "bust out some weird moves" :-laf :-laf :-laf again... ... coax was no where near it?
