Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Ok... . so I've come into a sum of $$ ((read year end bonus)) and I have finally decided to get something I've been wanting for a long time.

A Siberian Husky pup!Oo. I've wanted one for years, and finally I'm going to get one. :D

Problem is I cannot find a good AKC breeder anywhere that has decent prices.

Does anyone know of a good healthy breeder that I can get a AKC registered pup from?

Willing to travel resonable distance for good dog.

FWIW, I'm not big on breeders, but am big on animal rescue. Here is what info I have on husky's in the southeast:

Andy I did consider a rescue Husky at first, but I believe since I've never had one before and have been told they can be a handful that its best to start with a pup. Someday I will rescue one after I have more experience with them. However, thank you for the information I will put it in my notes. ;)

dogs and meetings

There are good breeders and B_A_D breeders. AKC registration is one of the problems. They register anything in the bloodline, not just dogs that exemplify the breed. This tends to result in a "split" breed as well, with the "show" dogs being larger and with longer coats. The true working dogs will tend to be more compact/sturdy with less fuzz. The fancy prancy AKC events feed this phenomenon and also indavertently creates "puppy mills".

(steps off the box)

If I were looking for a full-blooded pup, I'd seek out someone who is competing with the breed in question in working-class events. Go-to-Ground and racing for terriers, hunting for hounds... etc. Papers schmapers, show me a well-balanced dog with good breed conformation and working blood.

Anybody need a dog? I've got a stray young ***** staying around the house now. She's been there too long to shoot. Looks like a mix with red heeler and maybe some other cow/sheep working dog. I didn't feed her for three days, but she hung around anyhow. Now she gets the scraps and such. I guess she'll make a 30-40# dog. Mom would take her, but she just took in a Great Dane and already has five others.

SO meeting will be on the 20th. What time yall think? 10-4 or something like that? No shop work. I think Joe is working on the parade route. ;)

and also Bean's Diesel PREformance Open House III--May 12, Dunbar's Dyno (with DHRA points), major food, MTTDR meeting. Bean has elected a candidate for a ford/cummins conversion and you ain't gonna believe which one. Maybe they'll gitter done by dyno time. :D

I'll start threads...

While we're talking about dogs my wife wants some kind of little mop for inside the house. I don't know why I've agreed to it, maybe it's Christmas, but she's wanting something cute and cuddly, preferrably a puppy, if anybody knows of anything. I would at least like to see us get something that I can turn out with the Beagles when we're not at home and not have to keep it up inside. It'll have to be good with the kids, too.

Me, the wife, 6 year old boy, 4 year old girl, cat, and a new dog in a 950 square foot house. Maybe I can get a bed for the back of the Magic Truck. It already has running water, right Joe? :-laf

Yer house is bigger than mine Scott. You'd better come look at this young female dog (i got bleeped on *****) I've got. Also lots of "free to good home" dogs on the board at the vet and in the Rutherford Reader--or something like that--a little trader rag that I see everywhere.

The 20th sounds good to me, i guess there is no way to get as good of weather as there was last time. Anyway, i'll try to bring a couple more trucks with me this year. Probably my son's 92 and a friends 03. Randy Oo. Oo.

I'm waiting for these 2 dogs in my house to die... already helped the cat along... then we get to replace ALL the floors. Animals + inside house = PIA, IMHO

Well, I've always had a cat. And a cat door. Damm a buncha litter boxes. Cat I got in college just died last year. Dayum old cat. I have dogs now. Cat (not the dead one) is now outdoors only. Labrador and JRT are my mutts. Used to have doggie doors, but lab is too big and they'd just go outside and bark at night. Little dog sleeps in his crate every night. Big dog lost her crate on I-65. She sleeps in the floor--or the couch if we forget to "block" the sitting area with pillows. Only have soiling issues with pups. Chewing and HAIR--now that's a battle. Hair mostly. Lots of it. Lots of hair.

But it's not as bad as one hacked up furrball! :-laf :-laf

And then I have this lovely outside-the-fence *****h... . free to good home.

Call me crazy if you want, but if it works out the way I want this will be a well mannered inside dog that you will see accompanying me to most events. ;)

Wife's parents have a decently mannered Chocolate lab living in there house. No probs! :D

Dude, you gotta go get that one. You might have some change left to buy him some goodies.

Awaiting return email inquiry... yeah that's what I was thinking too. If I don't recieve any word before I leave for work in the morning I will call them. ;)

My wife has all the "petfinder" websites already in our favorites. She also checks out any shelter she comes within 20 miles of. She has already adopted 2 that are now with other family members. The last one was supposed to be a Spitz mix that wasn't supposed to get over 20 pounds. That one went to her uncles farm when she got to 45 lbs at about 6 months old. She settled at 55 pounds. I don't think I'll trust another guess from someone at the shelter.

mark, hows that new clutch doing???

Just fine. Said less rattle... that lasted about 3 days. :)

Everyone let me know if you see any Husky pups for sale, the one I posted the link too had a long list of people waiting to adopt him. :(

But Scott has first shot at it... not literally. :p

Wade,

Thanks for the pics. The wife said "She's a cutey but just not what I'm looking for. Are you sure we can't have another outside dog?" If we didn't have 2 already I'd take her.

I have found an 04 QC 4x4 auto drw "flatty", with 89000 on the ticker for a verry low price. Its such a good deal i think somebody is trying to get rid of problem truck.

What are some of the problems the 3rd gens have? I have crawled around under the truck no leaks. No paint lines that i can see. How is the auto in the 04? I also checked the codes and it had one code 0234 turbo overboost.

I have't kept up with the 3rd gens so i don't really know what to look out for.
