Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Second gear is gone in my truck. I hope it is just a band that is broke. Dropped it off at transmission shop a while ago. Everything works fine, except it has no second gear. It'll up shift from first to third if you let of the throttle. Once it is in third and you pull it down to second, nothing. transmission guy thanks band to loose or broke. I'll let ya'll know when I hear something. Cross your fingers boys. Ol lady done said NO NO NO to aftermarket trans, shucks! Budget is depleted with opening the new business and all.

Dealer report

I had to take my truck in for a warranty/defrost door repair, (TSB#######) When I went to pick it up, it wasn't done due to damaged replacement parts... With no griping from me, Hallmark Dodge in Anticrotch called Enterprise car rental and told them to send a car for me and that they were paying:--) . I thought they would give me a Pinto, but they gave me a newer Grand-am. Hallmark did a good fix on the defrost with no new scratches. Oo. Oo.

Kimber glad to hear you had a good experience with Hallmark. We need a good dealer around hear for warranty and service!:)

Yeah Wade it sounded good! I don't know about the shifting but it will give me an excuse to watch it for the 15th time. :p Did you buy the truck you were talking about ?

NAW, I was trying to sell it to GAP!!! Then he'd have a SECOND GEAR!Oo. Oo.

Maybe in a year or two I'll have the cash on hand to snap up deal like that.

Of course for about 3k for a conversion(juicer to box), 2k for a clutch, 3k for cosmetics, and another k for general miscellaneous--the green truck will BE FINE!  :p

Okay already, I've got to figger a way to hang that Prepamonster under the truck. And GF gets the shop--I mean- house next week. So after moving her worldly belongings. I get to move my shoply belongings.

Okay: more news from CannonVine

So I gots a deal on a 215 pump for the Green truck. (Let me know if you need one too--I can HOOK U UP). The Green truck has been dubbed "DODGEZILLA" and will have a nametag soon. Hope Tim and City Diesel don't mind.

A new LP will go on Dodgezilla as well, per Jeff Garmon's insight.

A bigger Turbo MUST be added to the DZ truck--a FLICK of the foot gets 1400 now--with #4 all the way up. (Silliness from the round of truck pulling. )

The ACTUAL Dodgezilla HX35Hybrid in the Red truck is ROCKING ON--new experimental stuff on the way for that thing. Hole has to be drilled for Scotty 2. Hey, GET RID OF THE BHAF--if you're anywhere near 350RWHP. Seriously.

Going to put D25 Skyjacker coils under the 4x2 to get the front end out of the mud. Still need traction bars and air bags for the Puller.

Anybody in Nashville a lot--can grab me some U-joints from Spicer for the Puller? Solid X type--DO NOT want zerk-fittings type.

AND WHO was it that said he can get good prices on D/C items? I need a few $tealer only items.

HO YEAH--and I'm gointer have a shop soon 30x40x10 insulated with a woodstove! No hoist--but I'll just have to suffer. ;)

Truck is fixed. Local transmission guy found that 2 gear strut had came loose. I have 40,000 miles on with the Comp. He said, no signs of significant wear. transmission has 138,000 miles on it :). Comp been on since 96,000. Said transmission looked real good. All sled pulls have been done in 1st gear. I was suprised that second had went out. Thought it was surely the Comp. He said he hasn't seen this for a long time. He said this is the way they used to break before they were computerized. I was tickled pink!!

My (my wifes business), I am just free labor, is going to be Antiques type store. We are living upstairs now. Opening business up downstairs sometime this summer. Which is why she thinks I built the shop ;)! See ya'll dyno day...

may meet

Cain't do the cell before 9pm--no time left-unless you're on Verizon. 9pm I'll be out with folks. Dad's 60th.

Oh boy--Next January Meeting we get to go TIQUE'ing. :p

BTW what about the May meeting. Will decide when/where at this dyno meet. But want to start the discussion ahead of time.

Ivy Bluff pull on July 3rd will be the July meeting of Mid TN TDR.

Found me a 98+ top cover for my NV4500. The guy is gonna be nice enough to sit on it till next pay day too! Oo.

Gonna be calling Joe to help with this one! :-laf

Going to see about hanging that Prepmeister under there tomorrow.

Moved most of my tools and such over to GF's shop. No more shade tree. I was getting a bit tired of that tree.

So how far away is the GF's new shop from your house Wade?

I think I will be taking another couple of inches out of my stacks when it gets warmer so maybe I can fit in my basement easier.

I've got quite a few jobs to do when it warms up some, and I can get my freak'n basement cleaned out!

Also anyone here interested in a Wilson 1000 magnent mount antenna? I paid $30 for it last year (cost $75 new) and I'll take that much for it. I'm losing A LOT of paint on top of my cab, and that damn thing isn't helping! Going to a 4ft fiberglass stick on the toolbox.

shop is 6 miles away. and radios and ham.

From my house--go like going to Ivy Bluff and turn left instead of right at the first turn. Go 2 miles--on the left. 1484 Pleasant View Rd.

That's why there are no radios in my truck. I had used mag-mounts on my F150 forever--and the paint had suffered. I put some mag-mounts on this truck, but quickly realized that "temporary" can be long enough to foul the paint.

I had Wilsons and all that crap. Two things CB'ers need to know about antennas. One--don't try to feed DUALS. Put 'em on there fine--but even if you do get them properly matched (phased) you'll be creating a short-WIDE radiation pattern. Second--the most bang-for-the-buck, theft resistant, power handling antenna out there for CB is STILL the 102" whip. Less than $20 last one I bought.

And some more radio stuff. Nicked, Pinched, Kinked, Squashed, or otherwise compromised coax will foul up the whole mess. When SWR's don't make sense--yank that feedline and put in fresh.

SWR. don't sweat anything under 1. 5:1. It's a waste of time. And SWR are NOT a measure of antenna performace. It is an electrical matchup. If you have a 4' Firestik that matches to 1. 2:1 and a 102" that matches to 1. 5:1, the 102 will probably PERFORM better-because of the characteristics of the antenna. No it won't perform better than a 102" at 1. 2:1. Where can you get a 1:1 perfect match? Dummy load--electrically perfect, effective radiation equals zero.

And for a $10 license (valid for 10-years) and about $100 worth of equipment (used) Mark and I COULD talk from his area (Lebanon/Gallitan) to my area (Woodbury-etc. ) any day of the week and most of the rest of middle TN. They've about killed the morse code requirements (them bastuds). The test is given almost every month at some location. M'boro, Lebanon, Sparta, Columbia to name a few.

W1ADE --my ham call, previously KF4GFZ
