:{ First off IF YOU ORDER IT WON'T HAVE ANY MORE THEN 20 MILES ON IT! It has to be driven off the line on to a truck, then driven on to the rail car, then back on the truck, then back off the truck at the dealer, then test drove so you don’t whine about that noise under the truck. Then if it is a spec or dealer ordered truck any test drives that poetical buys do. So ONCH MORE IF YOU DON’T WANT ANY MILES ON IT ORDER IT AND WAIT 6 TO 12 WEEKS AND CRY ABOUT THAT! :{ God you people are so damm funny!

Um... okay...

First, I don't think anyone is complaining about the low amount of miles it takes to go from assembly line to truck to rail to truck to lot. No one realistically expects to pick a truck off the lot with zero miles on it. I mean come on now. If I test drive a vehicle and it has 100 miles on it, and then I buy that truck, I have not one gripe. But very few people expect a new truck to have several hundred or even thousands of miles without prior knowledge, especially after traveling thousands of miles themselves to pick it up. Dealers should be up front about that. My experience with my dealer was totally positive, with this one exception.

I have to add my two cents on this topic due to a very questionable experience I encountered upon receiving it. I purchased this truck over the internet from Steve white motors in north carolina, had it delivered on a trailer up to New York with no problems EXCEPT, The VIN# was different than the one I thought I bought and Insured. The Milage was fine but I thought this was strange. As I called the dealer prior to letting them take the truck off of the flatbed, They don't understand what happened but assured me this was my truck. Has this ever happened to anyone you know? Oh well, you live and you learn. .

I don't mean to flame anyone here, but why are we concerned about a few miles on a truck that can last 500,000 miles or more. How badly can someone beat it up on a test drive in town? I would expect that a special order truck not be used for test drives though.

I checked on the status of my new truck order, just the other day. After waiting for almost 2 months, I'm ready for delivery. That being said, here is my concern: I special ordered this truck and I expect it to have minimal mileage on it when I take possession. I don't want the sales staff using it as a demo, or worse yet, testing new equipment (like the G-56 transmission). When the sales manager says, "your's will be one of the first trucks we have gotten in with the G-56 in it" that makes me a little paranoid that some hammer fisted salesman, or his friends, will do a little road testing before I pick it up. I will be less then pleased if it show up with more then 20 miles on it.

Years ago, while I was stationed overseas, I ordered a new dodge car for delivery when I returned. When I got to the dealer, I found out that they had been using it for a test drives and had put numerous miles on it. They also had a problem finding the title. I went home, called Chrysler, and cancelled my order and requested a refund of my deposit. Don't know if I would do that with this new truck, but if it appears that they have been "test driving" it, I may... :(

I have a picture in my reader's rigs to back this up... . mine had 2 miles on it. and 5 miles at delivery... . I asked that PDI test drive only be enough to go get fuel and back... . they said that was fine since it was a custom order truck... . also helps to have family (cousin) work at the dealership

My beast had 17 miles on it at delivery. It did come in from another dealer in a another state, seeing as how what I wanted was not available locally !!

I got mine off the lot... . it had 7 miles on it when I test drove it... . put 11 on it during test drive... . took delivery the next morning, it had 20... . and a full tank of fuel.....

That's how it should be done!

Mine was ordered, and had 21 miles on it. Tomeygun said it was from where he had to take it to the shop across town to get the Line-X installed. I have no problem with that. My dad bought a Nissan a while back and they were trying to sell him one with 1k+ on it as a new vehicle. He didn't buy it, and I wouldn't either. They told him last week that it is considered a new vehicle with as much as 1k on the clock. To me, that is a used vehicle no matter how the miles got on there. Sell it to some other sucker, because I'll patiently wait the 10-12 weeks, whatever, for a new vehicle, with the options I want on it.

Good point...

On the other hand, BE VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT A SRT-4 WITH 200 MILES ON IT... :-laf :-laf :-laf -- Some times i will take a guy on a test drive in one of those little pocket rockets, and before you know it he's on the rev-limiter... Of course he didn't buy it, go figure

I no longer let people drive the SRT-4's... ...
Now that I can relate to. I would suggest placing a factory order if you want to buy an srt4 :D

7 miles on it when I drove it off the lot to test drive, and 126 when I brought it back. The salesman (I know the owner of the dealership personally) said take it for the day and do what I want, so I did. Had 132 and a full tank when I picked it up. They took it to the detailer to have the westins and fender flares put on, and for the undercoating and paint protectant to be added (they threw that in for free)... . I know, nothings' free.

My '05 had 8. I called the dealer and made the deal over the phone for it while it was on the transport in route to the dealer. The deal was made about a week before it arrived at the dealer. It was exactly what I was looking for, so it never saw the showroom floor. Never got the chance to sit around and hope for a new owner some day! Oo. :-laf

120+ when I took delivery.

It had been sitting on the lot for ~6 months.

I didn"t particulary like it, but it beat waiting 12+ weeks. I am tired of ordering vehicles i. e. last three were special order.

As far as I could tell, no significant problems have shown themselves due to previous "test drives. "

Mine had 19 on it when I left for the test drive, and 24 miles on it when the keys were in my hands. . didn't take much for me to realize I LOVE it.

25,000 miles of course I bought it from a private party for $35,500. 00. 2004. 5 qc,4x4,swb,uh package, sport, red, line-x, afe intake,315/12. 5/15's,wheel liners, dark interior, exhaust, edge juice with the attitude monitor installed, full aftermarket floor mats, replaced rear door speakers,6 cd indash changer, rear sliding window,3. 73 gears,325/600 diesel engine,1 beaut of a truck I guess He did'nt like the auto and wanted something different or it could be that He has 2 children and another on the way, anyway I think a great deal. So you guy's wine about the penny-aney stuff such as 19-500 miles that's not even a dent in that cummins engine.
