To me, I really wouldnt care how many miles a vehicle had on it (as long as it isnt a special order), or how many miles were put on it between times I visited the dealer- just have the decency to fill the thing with fuel before I pick it up. IMO, theres no bigger slap in the face than to spend (insert sticker $ here) and drive it off the lot with 1/4 tank, and have to spend $80 the next day to fill it. I thought about asking (telling) the salesman to fill the tank before signing, but I kinda wanted to see just how "service minded" they were, and I "assumed" that I didnt have to ask. I may end up getting the last laugh though, as I will remember that the next time i am in the market for a new vehicle :-laf

4100 miles used and it was 21 months old. It was parked for 1 year so it had low miles. :)

I saved about $15k over buying a new one.

Tried to buy at DSM, they acknowledged my request but never called me back. That is the 3rd time it happened with them. ?????????? Oo.

Less than 20 before test drive, about 80-90 after my second test drive. Also drove another truck about 30 in between the two drives. Mostly 70-85 mph. It saw top speed the next day. No harm done.

Bought mine with @90 miles on the odometer. I told them what i was looking for and they found it out of state and brought it in for me.

You thought they would truck it from another dealer, duh???

Get real guys. Led to believe and assumed. Anyone who "assumes" anything from a car salesman needs to wake up and smell the coffee!!!

I just bought my 06 last night, with 650 miles on it sitting on the lot. I was told the "business link manager" used it for a while after it was brought in from another dealer and the deal fell through. I don't care if it has 650 miles on it, but I kept pointing it out while negotiating, and feel it might have helped me get the deal I wanted. I'll put over a thousand on it in one weekend anyways, what difference does it make?

My 02 had 52 miles after being brought in from a different dealer also.

It makes NO difference at all. And it probably did help you get a little better deal. My '03 had a few miles on it when I found it, how many, I don't even remember, I liked the truck and thats what mattered. And it did help me get a great deal on it. And one more thing, the only thing ever to go wrong with it are those cheap, second rate trashy front axle steering u-joints, and if I could have got the hub out I wouldn't have had it back for them. Next time they fail, I will replace them with some real u-joints.

Some guys just feel the need to whine about something!

I love my truck!

enjoy yours,

jd

This thread blows my mind...

As a dealer, we have to test drive them 3-4 miles on what is called a "PDI" = Pre-delivery inspection. And if it sits on the lot, it may get driven alot if it is new model - So it may have like 75-100 miles after a couple of people take it for drives etc

And yes, a new order will only have 10 or less miles UNLESS the factory choose to quality test YOUR truck, then it will have a little sticker that states that, and it will have around 40-50 miles - WE CANNOT control that, thats why the sticker is there... To prove it was not the dealer

Secondly, if you guys dont think the factory worker (or delivey company) runs the crap out of a few trucks when they pulled off the assembly line, you are mistaken!

Trust me, as a son of past DC plant worker... your truck has seen high speeds (on rollers at the end of the assembly line) WAY before you get it...

Just a fact of life - No harm done

12 miles on mine, Lou Fusz special order.

For 35 to 45 thousand dollars, the guy ordering "Expects to Pop the Cherry" ;)

Mine had 245 on it when I took delivery. My wife found it for me while I was still in Iraq and she made the deal for me. It had everything I wanted plus some extras. I got it from Ron Tonkin in Portland OR and they were very good to work with. The truck came from a dealer in WA which explained the miles. At first it bothered me a little bit but in the 7 months I've had it, it has over 15k miles, pulled a full 24' enclosed car carrier coast to coast and back again, and so far, has performed flawlessly. I have never had any of the problems that others have had with their 05s.
