8 oil changes in 17k? If that is true your wasting a lot of oil. I would look at the breather system before I got worried about something more serious. Do you do a lot of short trips not allowing the engine to warm up?

Looks like the engine doesn't reach full operating temperature to boil of any condensation. 8 oil changes in 17,500 miles?? The interval for oil changes is 15,000 miles.

Condensation is the only possibility, but why? As noted not getting to full temp, probable cause. Has your EVIC been recommending the frequent oil changes.

Ditch that rig......and trade it in on a 6.4L HEMI. It's obviously being used in a duty cycle that is not conducive for diesel ownership.

well the truck made a 1500 mile trip with a 8000 lbs trailer, up and down the Rockies.. it sat for 1 day and drove a quick 20 mile trip. now I have the milk... The truck always is warmed up,,, and cooled down. this truck is a work horse.... I own 3 TDC. and 2 qsb 355 hp... I'm sure I would melt down a gasser!!!!!!!!!!! EVIC is normal I just hate dirty oil, thanks again for the help

What are your EVIC indicated coolant and oil temperatures? Not that it means anything, but that residue is whiter than I've seen in engines that were "milky". Usually a little grayer looking. I've seen oil foaming in small engines that looked like that, but I sure never heard of it on these things!

especially when no coolant usage is seen.

I also live and tow in the Colorado Rookies. About as much stress as you can put on your CTD by going up 12k foot passes. Send in an oil sample and you will know for sure if you have a coolant leak. I used a Wix sample purchased from Amazon two years ago and was happy with the service. Don't send it as hazardous liquid if you want a quick determination since it will take a month to arrive at the lab via the postal service.

delo 15-40 sealed 1 gals, coolant temp did go to 225 f, oil temp around 200 f Thank you all for the input, I just never seen such a thing

Can other members chime in on what kind of oil temp range is seen on the current CTDs? Is the oil cooler thermostatic? My current 6.4 gasser runs higher oil temp than what the OP posted.

AFIK oil temp is algorithm based as there isn't a oil temp sender on the block anywhere.

The oil cooler is not thermostatic on the CTD and I don't know about the 6.4 but I highly doubt it.

Are the 2015's running a 190° or a 200° thermostat?

Max allowable temp on a 190° is 225° per Cummins.

I highly recommend Oil Analizers Inc. Not only are they the recommended UOA company by my local Cummins they offer more data for less money than blackstone, including TBN as a standard option (very important), and they seem to have better tech's too.

I was on the blackstone wagon for a while but became very unimpressed with them over time.
