Good Web site ...

Happy Birthday TQT

Here is a pic of my "Mini Me" I recently bought and bombed. It is a traxxas T-maxx that runs on nitro. It has a 2 speed automatic and will do around 40mph! This thing is bad! Anyone else got one?

And yes those are little stacks coming out the top and they're hooked up and work!

I have a Nitro-Quake... I LOVE IT!!!! I need new servo's, mine got wet from running in the grass after it rained.

Any ideas on good servo's??

Whitmore, the Nitro-Quake will do about 35 to 40 MPH. IT REALLY FLIES!!

I have seen a T-MAXX in the hobby store, never running though.

They have a local meet here in Bridgeport sponsored by the local hobby shop, it is something to see. These little trucks having a tug-of-war... motors screaming, dirt flyin

No, but they do make diesel engines for these trucks...

I am not sure what the nitro fuel is made up of.

The river that we boat in, at times during the week, around dusk, there are a few people who have off-shore model nitro powered boats, let me tell ya, they FLY!!!!!

They use aglow plug for starting, and are compression ignition, the smaller displacemnt, the higher the RPM, larger motors turn slower, but make more torque.

The T-Maxx is nice (Like the stacks:) ) We have a 3-speed transmission conversion kit laying around the house, haven't installed it yet.

These little nitro motors aren't the "cox" motors of the past,,, these things idle smooth, have good torque, and are dripping with HP.

I have a . 12 motor in an RC-10GT and it's rated for 1HP @ 15,000 RPM (or 25,000, can't recall at the moment) This thing flys, and handles okay.

I prefer 1/8th scale cars/trucks,, they handle MUCH better, but price goes way on up also.

My advice on your new T-Maxx,, get a on-board temperature gauge for engine temp,, they don't cost too much,, and can save a motor.

Cylinder temp is just as critical as EGT in our trucks. .

On the flip side,, running to cold/rich will wear a motor out in short time, and the motor will be much lower on performance. (lots of lag, low running time on a tank, lots of oil out the pipes, etc. )

Enjoy,,

BTW, The best servo's out there are Multiplex, but are WAYY Pricey, best value are JR servo's. Run a bigger battery pack for your servo's and GO DIGITAL,, it's the only way to go,, you will have shorter run times on batteries, but the driving experiance will be much different. The truck will stay straight, and response time will be greatly decreased,, if you are racing them, lap times can easily come down also.

Hope this helps,,

Sure is a Diesel, Its a 2 stroke (piston port), Glow plug start, compression ignition engine, which makes a diesel in my book!

If it hasn't got a spark plug, isn't it a DIESEL?

Top fuel dragster start a 1/4 mile run as "gasoline" cars and turn into Diesel half way down the track. .

Thier spark plugs erode, and the motor, with enough heat, runs on compression ignition,,

I forgot where I saw this post, (it was here on TDR) but it gave many different facts about top-fuel dragsters, and that was one of them.

How about mine?

I bought all aluminum parts and I do have the same Dodge body as you but blue. W/ silver 2 tone.

This 1946 dodge power wagon body is . 6 lexan and very strong.

I had to get heavyer springs to take the weight of the truck.

40 MPH is the advertised speed. I believe it.

Sweet ride Eric! I thought the same as you guys... no sparkplug-it's a diesel. So I gave it stacks. 40+ is the advertised speed, but someone on the Traxxas forum said a friendly policeman clocked thiers at 42mph stock! I know its too fast for me to control.
