WRONG
DEAD WRONG.
Not what I said.
Does everyone here know the difference between "ENGAGED" and DISENGAGED"??????
ENGAGED THERE IS NO NOISE, not from the transmission, or the clutch.
At 10MPH today there was no noise.
At 55 MPH today there was no noise
AT 110 MPH TODAY THERE WAS NO NOISE, NO VIBRATION.
Towing a trailer there was no noise, no clash, with smooth operation, no hans device, do you guys understand what I am saying?
Disengaged there is. I said with the windows up, you can't hear it, I DID NOT SAY ,"I HAD TO"
At the drive thru, I have always shut my Cummins off, clutch or no clutch, my automatic included.
Obvoiusly, Mitchell's clutch man has taken this several steps further than Peter did 10 years.
Todd,
I don't know what clutch you drove that did all that, but mine sure does not, must have been another brand.

, and I still had idle clattle with clatter in 4th and 5th gear driving on the highway. I have heard a lot of the people that have the double disk unit say that the rattle comes from the center plate and, yes, that is true when the clutch is depressed. The center plate is freed at this time allowing it to flop around a little causing the clatter. But think about it... when the clutch pedal is not depressed everything is squeezed together ready to drive. As Gene has stated, sitting still he may need to shut the vehicle off to hear someone talking, or if he is driving down the road and the clatter gets too loud he just needs to roll the windows up which tells us that something is making noise. It is NOT the clutch making the noise. ?
