Competition Sleddie's banter Need Sled Pulling Advice

I went with some friends to the annual Ramcharger get together held at Moab this year. Ran three trails in the 2500 and impressed quite a few folks with the big Ram. The hitch drug more than anything else, with the skid plates and steps taking the rest.

No Scratches (on the painted stuff) and no Dents.

The diesel with the govenor worked VERY well in low range and first gear with the manual. with very few exceptions I didn't have to 'work' on any of the obsticals. Just pick a line and let the engine push over it. The engine worked perfectly for the decents too.

I've got a lot of pictures on my web site at:

http://www.benscorner.com/MOAB06/

There's links to the Ramcharger web site at the top of that page too.

I just wish I had got a couple of pictures of the faces on the jeep drivers when we rumbled past them. I don't think any of them thought they'd see a full size truck on the trails, much less a new one with shinny paint and no dents.

The truck is a '05 2500 4x4 Quad Cab, Short Bed

o Cummins, Six Speed

o 35" Toyos and the KORE Pace setup

o factory skid plates, including the fuel skid plate

o Full length steps that are VERY sturdy

(from Mark's Machine Co. , Inc)

Also a lot of bugs from Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and even Utah.

Hey, were you guys on Hell Revenge on Sat. Sept 2. ? I was waiting in the City Market parking lot that morning, with my daughter, for my Jeep group(always late). Saw you guys again at the trailhead and on the trail.

Been there too

Hey what trails did you go on? I went w/ my girl beginning of the year for 3 days, had a blast! Got more pics?

Great pics, have to love that red rock country. :) One great thing about the Cummins is you can usually pic 2nd or 3rd gear in lo range; let the clutch out and keep your foot off the accelerator on the steep ascents. Oo.

cool pix man :)

Did you drive it up and out of Escalator?

It gave us hell earlier this year running the Jeeps :-laf

Ben didn't do the Escalator, but we drug an '02 CTD HO on 37" MTRs up the Escalator in '03.

It suffered only a cracked right side tail light, and the fender was pushed in slightly.
