2003 wont start when cold

Would not do:

1) 5" exhaust, good product but alot of drone w/ only 1 muffler

2) Street version of a DD, should have just got a 3600 or 3850 plate originally

Would Do:

1) Tst, no explaination needed

2) pressure box to smooth out the Tst

3) 62mm Hybrid turbo

4) Superlift

Best mod to date

1) Amp Research powersteps- expensive, but worth every penny

Would Do Again:

Everything in Sig Except

AR Pythons - Can't keep them polished, now they look like crap

Banks Exhaust, Aero, MBRP - Buy and MBRP system and be done...

Maybe SPS62... RCT is a little laggy, but no surge :)

Need:

Clutch

Brite Box

FASS Quiet 150

Another CP3

Water

Studs

Cam

A DANG EXHAUST BRAKE... SO AWESOME, WISH I HAD ONE!!

I am planning on getting one of the new silent Fass and would like to know if anyone else is having the problem with truck running out of fuel at 1/4 tank?

I can run till the light comes on, its all in how you install the pickup tube. I have never ran out of fuel... furthest I have gone is about 10miles after the light came on.

The new pumps are VERY, VERY quiet :)

Do again:

TST/EZ stack

Line-X

HTT turbo

Pricol gauges

SRT pillar gauge

Pro-comp 6005 wheels

Husky floor liners in rear.

ATS stage V Trans

AFE and UNI filters both work well

Cool Blue hose.

Billet flex plate

modded CP3

Would Not:

FASS pumps 95 and 150. Too loud/can't hold FP (stand alone pumps)

Smarty even with several programs the light throttle wouldn't let the trans shift into second. I have a TV cable not solenoid actuated. may be problem?

ProComp Xtreme All terrain are fine now but the first 1k miles they felt soft as butter and truck was hard to control.

Partially building trans i. e. just a torque converter/vb. that will cost you in the long run.

running a straight pipe with stacks, sounds good till you have to drive an hour or more each way to work everyday.

Won't do again:

Cheap aftermarket mirrors

Least likely to do again:

MBRP exhaust

ATS exhaust manifold

Probably would do again:

AFE Intake

#10 fuel plate

Luke's Links (on tie rods)

Definitely would do again:

PacBrake

LineX

DD stage II injectors

3K gov springs

Centermatics

DDT transmission

Dipercol gauges

3rd Gen trackbar

DSS

Summit headlight mod

Rostra seat heaters

Intend to get:

Suspension kit (leaning towards Carli)

Snow water/meth injection

Actually I haven't done anything (yet) that I have really regretted other than the mirrors. If you have to replace the mirrors send enough to get a quality product. The cheap ones I bought vibrated so much you couldn't see objects in them.

Wouldn't do again:

MBRP cool duals (Look great and good fit/finish... too much drone towing heavy)

Bullydog Not bad, but would like to try Smarty/TST

Do again:

Mag-hytec diff cover for sure

Banks intercooler... exhaust for your intake, low end torque and EGT's do drop

2-3" leveling with 1" added to back

Bullydog outlook monitor

Would not:

Cheap Grill inserts: They feel cheap just looking at them. Rip Off. But they were cheap.

285 tires: Spent the whole 20,000 wishing they were 315's (wish I had seen that you can run 315's on stock rims before I bought these). Almost outta tread though. Dont know how that happened. :-laf

Edge/juice combo: Should have got tst from the start. I guess I didnt know till I got the "bug" though. I still like alot of the features on it though. Wish I could have gotten all in one. Personal opinion wishes tst would include more of the stuff that the juice has, i. e. easier to read, more user friendly screen 1/4 mile, 0-60... ...

Buy fuel preassure gauges over the phone without knowing what I wanted and what they max out at and how they hooked up (bleeding stinks go electric).

Rear-veiw mount tv that hangs from the mirrror: Wont hold up to hot weather and the added weight at all. Had to build a stainless mount that screws into the roof supports.

Alpine cd player: Dern thing skips a NEW cd half tha time. Think I'll try an Eclipse next time.

Whistler Radar detector: False alarms suck. It was on mute on the last 2 tickets (my fault kinda). Illinois cops just like me.

Try to drive a CTD through any mud or sand or think that limited slip helps the four wheel drive at all.

Try a 3rd gear launch the day before a long trailer haul with a stock clutch and egde on 5/5. Nah never mind I still wouldve done it. Got the woman to release the money for the SBC, " I have to have it for work. " :D

Would:

Banks Technicooler: (got my ins. to include it after I hit a deer, so in the same situation, yes, but I didnt feel any seat of the pants feel or gained mpg though. Doesnt do much for a stock truck. Still hoping that the future mods will net me some "unnoticed" benefits.

Magnaflow muffler: no drone just wish it was 5" with stacks(theres that drone). Never even wanted stacks till I planned on ordering a smarty though. Im figuring I will smoke too much while pulling with the juice/smarty stack. Which I'm still hoping that stack works.

Intake:Custom built tube and K&N works fine for me, 50,000 still aint cleaned it.

Line-x: Have had it on a jeep and 2 trucks now and I still like it. Just wish it would hold up to the abuse I put it in (it WILL gouge). Still better than nothing (rhino).

SBC DD 3600#: Even with my luck (having one of the few that have forks "pop off") Have someone install it that you trust if you dont have time or means to do it yourself. I still love my rattlin, clangin, SBC. Sure I would get one with springs if nothing gets sacrificed for a little noise.

Toyo: Wish the M/t 315's werent so pricey. May look for another "E" tire in a 315 before I spend that money. Anybody got ideas???

Fass 150: Loud but I did gain mileage but lost some distance. Now I look for a station when the overhead says 100dte. Need 2 take it down and see if the pick-up tube can be lowered more. Installer was a hack and I shouldve done it myself.

BD Short shifter: Makes the hand shakin less painfull all around. Plus the bend I put in it torward the driver helped tons.

Silencer ring mod: Love that whistle :-laf

Prodigy Trailer Controller: Works good, worth the extra money

Reflexxion Hood: Looks great but make sure you have the bodyman fit it on the truck. Little larger gaps than factory. Kinda hard to make changes to the fit if you have them paint it to your body color and install it yourself.

Have dealer turn-off the automatic locks right away. Rear passangers hate it almost as much as when I need to get anything out of the back seat.

Build a lightbar out of stainless thats capable of throwing a yank strap around while attatched to a heavy trailer and being pulled out of heavy snow by a full size grader without bending. Mount it to the tow hook area with 1/2 plate and use good bolts.

:-laf :-laf :-laf Thats as bad as the Cop I passed doing 75 while flashing my lights at the guy in front of me driving 55 in left lane, obviously he knew about the highway patrol in the right lane on the other side of the Big rig in the middle lane :{ I hate when that happens

Yeah well I think california cops like me to. I was doin a little high speed drivin behind a carload of women doin the same speed but I got the ticket and im pretty sure I didnt look better than them... ..... then again the cop did seem a little light in his loaffers. :D :D :D

I was goin 90 in visalia (visalia... . it even sounds like an affliction)

Would do again: I just installed an EZdown (helps control the lowering of the tailgate).

Real easy install. All tools needed are included except 1/2 wrench or rachet, which most people would have.

Guages. Even though they are still sitting on my bench in my garage. 1/27/07 is planned install date.

Rhino lining: I had on my previous truck of almost 8 years. One of the first things I did on my new truck.

When I have more time I will come back and edit this.

Oh yeah I forgot

Condenser guard: Good idea but the one I made out of stainless for the factory intercooler doesnt fit with the new Banks intercooler which is wider.

Vent Visors: are a great idea but I always hit my cigs on them as they are goin out the window.

What's everyone got against the BD Power pup? hahaha. just curious. Is it that the smarty is so much more adjustable (pressure on/off, etc. )?

Also, I noticed quite a few people have the 2" leveling kits. I have been SO close so many times to installing the spacers (cheap way out, I know) on my truck. however, the fact that the rest of the front suspension geometry remains untouched (aside from the adjustments made during an alignment) scares the heck out of me! maybe it's just how I was taught to think as a mechanical engineer... . but the fact that the spacers cause the stock suspension setup to flex and move in a totally different way than what was intended scares me.

I jacked up the truck and we do have a lot of extra room for extension in the stock setup. If I do install the spacers, i will loosen all of the pieces that have rubber grommets and retighten them at the new ride height to prevent ripping. However, I'm still afraid of the increased wear on the front end components due to the 2" increase. ANY INPUT??? I wish I could persuade myself that I won't see any increased wear with these simple spacers, but hey. . I plan on getting buried in this truck and want to keep it around for a long time!

Any thoughts are welcomed! TIA!

NOT

-terra grapplers

-bully dog triple dog

-aeroturbine

Have worked great, but should have done different

-AFE... ..... I would do a dry type filter second time around

-con ofe... Shoulda went dual disk or FE

-banks 4". . Shoulda went 5" from the start

-Fass 95... . Had to buy the Walbro 392 to get enough fuel to the new CP3

Wouldn't trade

-TST

-DDP 90's

-Pacbrake

-Cepek Fun country ll's

-Motoblue 5"

-Silver bullet

-II's CP3

I second not spending the money on the aeroturbine again. its cool to see the stainless turn gold in some spots but i bought it to get the heat off my back and it was just a waste of money. very very slight change in quietness from straight pipe. the only difference is my buddy cant hear the lopyness of the cummins from his backyard half mile away when i fire it up. he can only hear me fire it up and hear me running it now with aeroturbine. also my girlfriend and her dad can still hear me 15 minutes before i get to there house. next time I would consider stacking mbrp's to shut up my 7" stacks.

When i went to buy my truck I looked high and low for a fully loaded dually with auto and black interior. at that time all i saw was 6 speeds. now look tommorow morning i will have a 6 speed coming to my house for my truck. shoulda spent less money and bought a truck with 6 speed first time around. also after 1st 48re I went through brunt up I shouldnt have spent around 6 grand on another modded one.

WOULD DO

Train Horns!!
BD short shift kit
Bent shifter
H2 Wheels
BOMBed high beam switch (probably #1)
Willy's Whisler intake
Tough Country running boards
Spooled Up's Tank Vent

WOULD NOT

Ranch Hand Bumpers (poor fit & finish)

All I can think of at the moment

Did you modify your fuel inlet from the Tank??????

I am planning on getting one of the new silent Fass and would like to know if anyone else is having the problem with truck running out of fuel at 1/4 tank?

If you did - then you lost any reserve that sits in the fuel pump module as they requested that you "Knock out the botom"... I did that and regret it... . if you are on a steep hill with low fuel - for any duration - the fuel will run away from the pickup and you're out of fuel... ...
