New Front Drive Shaft Required?

Based on y'alls experiences, what gauges or monitors are you running for your trucks. I don't think i'll be adding tuning or serious power mods anytime soon.

I know I can go analog but that requires alot of wiring being ran, drilling the manifold for an EGT, ect.

I am currently looking at either and edge CTS3 (have had a CTS2 previously on my 4th gen), Smarty touch (future tune support with this one) or the Banks Idash setup.

Trying to get a feel for what all of you are running. Truck is basically bone stock except for the 5" TBE I installed a couple months ago.
 
I like my older Edge CTS monitor. However, I think you will still need to add temp and pressure sensors to monitor those.
 
You will still have to add sensors if you want EGT’s, but the CTS2 or CTS3 would get my vote.

I liked the Smarty Touch/MM3 better, but if you’re not planning on tuning they aren’t worth it.

If you are planning on tuning get a MM3 with pyro and a full custom tune, don’t bother with the Touch.. IMO.
 
Smarty Touch make your battery die if not unplugged. They are also glitchy. Get an OBD Bluetooth app. Pyro and boost gauge.

I haven’t ran a touch since 2019, but that’s too bad to hear. I recall being very unimpressed with the CTS2 over the touch when I sold my 2005 for the 2018.
 
Thank y’all, CTS3 gets the win. I finally heard back from firepunk and if I want to do custom tunes, they recommended HP tuner as a standalone device and that’s also what a buddy of mine recommended for tuning. Right now just trying to decide if I want the monitor or do I like the analog gauges better lol.
 
I need to look into HP Tuners again, last time I looked at them they were missing some tables that you could tune with UDC Pro. Nothing earth shattering, but stuff that’s nice for driving.

I heard they made a lot of changes but who knows. This truck really has all the power I honestly need. I don’t race it and won’t. Did that with my 4th gen. Lol, I will attempt to get around 450-500 out of it without tuning if possible just for better mileage and definitely some kind of transmission tuning.

I would not try for that much power without tuning. The timing is emissions based and very retarded, it’s not ideal for just adding larger injectors.

Get some quality tuning.
