Juice w/Attitude too much for stock 48re?

I would like to set up a monitoring system in my truck that where i could check air temperature in 4 places and pressure in 4 places. I would like it to be able to record highs and lows and perhaps graph. Is there anything available for this.

How much $$$ are you willing to spend? I'm an instrument engineer in R&D and could recommend some fairly pricey, high quality stuff that would be sweet. Could also recommend some instrument vendors/companies. Some of the hardware even has removeable flash media, so you wouldn't need an onboard computer.

If it was me and I had the $, I'd would run the onboard computer and make a dash mounted digital gauge screen, recording data all day long where ever I could. I sorta get a kick out of colored lines on charts though.

There are a few packages out there that racers use to record and display data, but those are pretty pricey also.

PM or reply if interested...

I am just going to make a bracket that I can install two more gauges that are easily detachable and put a video camera where it can record the gauges. Don't want to spend a big chunk of money to accumulate the data. This will work and be inexpensive.

Hey J. P. how pricey. ;) a 7 inch screen displaying 2,4or6 gauges would be real cool!! As for monitoring 4 temps and 4 pressures seem like the spa guages might be an idea. Two parameters per gauge, some programability and max temp/pressure recording, should give you alot of info. I agree more data is great.

I have an in-cab PC as described in this thread.

I have seriously considered setting up a data acquisition system using National Instruments products which can be had on Ebay for reasonable prices. It would work fine with my PC, and it could be easily set up to do what you want. But it will run you probably a thousand or two to get everything set up. Maybe more, depending on the pressure transducers and thermocouples you decide to buy. I get mine from www.omega.com.
