I just picked up a 1990 ctd 1 ton dually with a sleeper cab installed. This thing has a 185 inch wheelbase. I got it cheap just for the motor. Has any one ever seen one of these? copterdoc

i've seen one, an old neighbur had it streched and used it for hotshots. ugly and couldn't turn without 40 acres to clear.

I used to see a bunch of them in this area. The RV mfg capital of the US is South Bend, IN. Thats about 60 miles north of me. US31 is a main route out of this state. So you would see them pretty regular. If that one was a totter I most likely have seen it.

I have seen that truck before. It is the only one I had ever seen with that big back window in it. It used to haul threw this area on a regular bassis. It disappered from around here a good 6 or 7 years ago.

Anyone know what the wheelbase of a 81-85 4 door crew cab long bed is? I've seen a few like that. I know 'CrewCabDiesel' used a stretched sleeper CTD for his donor rig. Copter, whats the inside of the cab and sleeper like? Taken care of or ratted out? What is the back glass slider removed and one has to crawl through it to get to the sleeper?

The inside is trashed. It would be a total resto project, but the shell is in good shape. It is wide open on the inside, it looks like one big cab. The guy I got it from parked it years ago because of a low power complant. he got a new motor to install in it. That is it in the back (it is a 96 215hp motor) then he lost interest in the project and let me pick up the whole lot cheap. the low power problem turned out to be a locked up turbo. the motor is now running great with my spare turbo installed . the photos of the engine are in my gallery and the conversions section at the end of the S-10 thread copterdoc

Wow lucky guy, so you got a 96 motor and the 90 motor that came with the truck all for cheap? Wow!
