Looking t ok replace my ball joints in my truck and was wondering if anyone knew the model #'s that I needed for my 2004 Dodge 4x4 2500. I have called and gotten numbers from O'Reilly's but was going to double check before ordering them. just dont have the money for Dynatrac at this time. Thanks in advance!

Rather than O'Reily's and low end Moog go with NAPA. The highe end NAPA chassis parts are Dana, the lower cost line is McQuay Norris whihc I had good luck with when they were Raybestos branded. Part #'s vary so much you need to source them by year, will be the same BJ for all 3rd gens IIRC.

To the OP, save up and do the joints and a free spin kit at one time with quality stuff.
Good investment and you won’t regret it- if you plan on going the distance with this truck.

I understand budget constraints and went with Moogs to get by....Big Mistake...truck never handled correctly. Towing the fifth wheel or worse yet with the Lance on back driving was a miserable experience.

Go OEM or possibly the NAPA brand, I trust Cerb and Big Papa for sound advice.

Save up for the Dyna Tracs or Carli’s at some point in the future. My Carli’s are now smooth as silk after the break in period..

Second this, I'm also a Moog Victim.
Never tracked good after install, binding from the first mile and never loosened up.

Currently running a set of XRF ball joints so far they holding up. Claim to have a million mile warranty. Price was right on eBay. There was a good u tube video about Carli CRF and another brand . The other brand was in between in price and tested very well. For the life of me I can’t remember the name of the company.. There was a link through a thread on TDR that connected you to the video

The best Ball joints for the price are EMF , they dont have knurled bodies that ruin the axle bores like XRF, are rebuild able should the need arise and surprisingly affordable.

For $515 US for a set they are indeed cheaper than the Napa Golds at $600/set.

I agree with Prairie Dog the prices a too close so why not just go with Dynatrac. I get confused when looking because as MOOG why would I want and 1/2 inch offset that can +/- 2 degrees. I want the ones that aren't offset right? I guess Dynatrac, EMF, etc. comes like that? Sorry for the stupid questions.

ok looking at biting the bullet on these Dynatrac's. Came down to Knurled or not Knurled. So which one and why or what makes the difference?
