stellantis is quite popular these days on my you tube " feed. " seems like every third video is someone trashing them for moving more usa production to mexico, junk EV cars, junk jeeps, junk wagoneers, and mass layoffs in canada and michigan etc. stellantis doesnt seem to care a bit about all this bad publicity. they currently have a couple of the slowest selling vehicles in the usa, and they dont seem to care about that either. kinda sad. had dodges/ram since 01. those trucks didnt go to the dealer 13 times like my 18 2500. probably done with them when the next one comes due. cheers all! :)

Someone in background is pushing this. It’s always so. Why is what I don’t wish to dwell upon.

I’m sure that the strangulation of Packard into nothingness versus it being re-born as the American version of Mercedes-Benz was the same.

The tech leader with the most demanding customers
is what it should have become.

Most of you are aware of the superiority of MoPar Torsion Bar Suspension (1957). COG, Steering and Handling was literally 20-years ahead of Ford & GM. Not until 1979 and 1977, respectively, was this met.

https://www.macsmotorcitygarage.com/video-a-deep-dive-into-packards-torsion-level-suspension/

Packard had taken it to a whole other level. Flat-cornering as extra bars controlled body roll. “Auto-Level “ as well, not dependent on air bags or air shocks.

Had they the financing and encouragement to pursue mech/elec fuel injection plus 4-whl antilock (1971 Imperial) and finally 4-whl independent suspension our cars would have been far better, far longer. Not to mention radial tires (1965) that took another ten years to have become common.

Much fun as are big blocks, a 368-CID FI engine in a unit/body car otherwise as above (124” WB) would have had it all given a 3+ 1 Auto trans. Power, Economy, Ride.

Still had quite a bit of innovation right up until 1963 across the board.

What we see now is just more crap piled on Americans. And cut auto production worldwide to 2-3 companies.

... probably done with them when the next one comes due. cheers all! :)
hate to say it but I ordered a new F350 back in March. It came in, but they ordered it with stationary running boards (Tremor option) instead of power retracting ones. The woman wanting these. I refused the Amp aftermarket ones, and to the dealers credit, he reordered the truck correctly & put the first ordered truck on his lot. I have the build date, and I'll see it next month. It's a retirement truck, so I built it for comfort which made it pricey. It's built in Kentucky.

What I would have liked to order is a gussied-up one ton diesel Power Wagon. I was holding out for the new trans, and after seeing what's coming in 25, it was hard to get excited about a new Ram. The new grill doesn't mean much to me, but IMO they went backwards with it. With a new interior, maybe... but the woman liked the interior of the F350 better, and I could go either way but giving the nod to the more open F350 as well. I don't feel like waiting another year, so there ya go.

I'll keep my 3rd-gen (87K and just did 1K to Reno and back this last week) as a work horse, but unless something muy malo happens to the F350, I won't be looking at any new Rams for a while.
