It fits the 47re Great. It has a Drain plug and a Temp sensor Port,Plus its about 3/4" deeper than the Original pan. And it cost around $110 from the Local Dodge Dealer in Taft Ca.

I concur with DieselRam! I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago. I took my truck in yesterday to have it put on, but when they pulled the pan out of the box, there were no bolts! So, I'm waiting for another pan (with bolts) to show up. It is a VERY nice looking pan - black with brushed aluminum finish. The pan is about 1/4 inch thick and has cooling fins.

BTW, the only reason I'm letting the dealer do it is because I am on my 4th pan gasket in about 7000 miles. Dealer thinks OEM pan is warped. I opted for the Mopar Performance pan rather than the crappy stamped OEM pan. I think the difference was about $80 bucks - and I don't have to pay for the ATF+4 fluid, which is big $$$.

Do you have the part # for this pan? And you did say it is a dealer item. Thanks in advanceOriginally posted by DieselRam:

<font color=blue>Has anyone checked the price for this pan through Mopar4less.

Just curious, usually they are alot cheaper then your local Dodge Dealer would be. <font size=-2>

SO, assume the pan will hold more oil, and also provide more cooling for fluid? Do you also lower the transmission fluid pickup to the new pan? Anyone have any info on actual benefits from pans like this?

1) Ok Guys, Here's the Part #P4876444.
2) yes is should fit the 47RH too, along with the 46RH/RE,518,727.
3)Mopar peformance parts have a very small markup price, so finding one any cheaper might not yeld any results.
4) Yes the filter sits lower in the pan with the 3/4" filter lowering plate.

BTW, I had to do a small amount of grinding to the (2nd gear?) solenoid valve retaining plate so the pan would clear it and fit right, this only took about 5min to remove the plate, grind it down, and re-install it on the Valve Body.

Attention ZMAN, Mine did'nt come with bolts either, The parts guy said that it might not come with them, So anyway I went to the Bolt supply house and picked up 14 bolts size 5/16x1" long NC Stainless Caphead allen screws with lock and flat washers, This size work out perfect.
ALSO, The New Mopar cork pan gaskets are now made with steel inserts around the bolt holes to prevent over tightning.
Since I installed mine, I have No more "weeping" arond the Gasket or pan.

Hey DieselRam -

Did your pan kit come with a gasket for the filter lowering plate? The dealer said that the gasket was also missing from my kit. They called the folks at Mopar and found out that all of the kits had just been recalled because they were missing the bolts and the gasket. #ad

What's the story with the ginding? Doesn't seem like the pan is a perfect fit. How much did you have to grind off the plate?

Steve,Yes my pan came with the NEW Style pan gasket, But no gasket was included for the filter Lowering plate. #ad
(I Made my own).
As far as the Pan Bolts Go, I like the one i bought, I probably would have not used the "supplied" bolts anyway. The pan is still worth the $110. 00 price IMO. #ad
.
As far as the Grinding of the plate goes, I removed about 1/8" off the Plate's leading edge towards the passenger side of the Truck. I hope you can picture what I did. Its no Big Deal.

BTW, I also Bought a steel flat washer the same size as the magnet in the Steel OEM Pan, And Epoxy'ed the washer down to the New Mopar Alum Pan In the Same location as Steel OEM pan. Now I Have a way to Use the Magnet like in the Steel OEM pan.
Doug.

I just got mine last week . It was on back order for a few months. Looks good. I'm going to epoxy a piece of tin in mine to hold the magnet. Need to get the grinder out, huh?

What is atf+4 fluid, this is the first I've heard of it. I have a 01 and just changed fluid today. My owners manual called for atf+3 and thats what I put in,hope I diden't make a mistake

Bill,

My manual also shows ATF+3, but my dealer said that the 2001's are supposed to use the ATF+4. As stated in my earlier post, I have had the transmission gasket replaced a few times since new, and they used ATF+4 each time. Seems like there was some discussion on this board regarding transmission fluid in the '01, but I can't find anything.

Steve

Hey DieselRam,

Does the filter lowering plate take the same gasket as the filter? Seems like that would be easy to come by if they are the same.

Steve

ZMAN,
The Filter lowering plate for the New transmission Pan didnt come with a new gasket between the VB and its self. I had to make one from some gasket material I had laying around the Garage.
Doug.
