The BOMBin has begun... :D Installed gauges, adjusted the vavles, moved the stock plate all the way forward, and installed a homemade vavle to control the wastegate. We installed a needle valve in the vaccum line to the wastegate, just behind the pump. Before we moved the plate, with the wastegate valve close, max boost psi was about 25-26. . After the plate was adjusted the max boost psi was about 35-36 psi. With the needle valve about one turn open max boost was about 32psi. Last week someone asked about the EGT's with the stock plate moved. . with the plate all the way forward, the highest EGT's we saw were about 650-700 post turbo. . This was during some hard runs. (This was with K&N, no CAT and a free-flow muffler. )

Thanks for all the help from the board. . after all the reading it sure made the installs easy. . Thanks. .

Bryan. .

TractorNut, I'm the one that asked about the egts. Thanks for the reply. What type of needle valve did you use? Was it worth sliding the plate, or should I just wait for a new one from TST? Your egts don't sound too bad, any ideas what that would be pre turbo? I'm guessing 950 to 1000? Thanks for your time.

Dan. . on the EGT. . like you said I would guess about 300 higher for the pre turbo temp reading... if you have the guages installed I would move the plate... I mean. . the price is right. . and about 30-45 mins. its a done deal... Go to one of the sites and print out the instructions. . but they do make it sounds way more complicated than it actually is. To get the break off bolt out, we just took a small punch and made the dimple a little bigger in the top of the bolt and then used a T20 torques bit, and taped in to the top of the bolt. . she came right out. . so good that we reinstalled it. Slid the plate all the way forward. We put the AFC housing back in the same location. . and adjusted the star wheel almost all the way forward. . She does have smoke down low, but as soon as the boost is there. . its gone and so are U. .

On the little valve, there is a pic of it on the link posted above, I do not know the price of the valve. . but it couldn't be more than a few $$ for the valve. . just some parts we had around, but its 1/8 NPT. .

Good luck. . and thanks again everyone. .
