I have a 2007 3500 5. 9 with 40k on the odo (mods are AFE Cold air kit and muffler delete). I recently (less than 150 miles) had the #2 injector replaced after it threw a p2146 and p0202 code.

Well, I go to start the truck today and here we go again. This time p2146, 0201, 0202, 0203.

So my question is this, does anyone know what other circuits are on the "group #1" fuel injection side? I can't believe another injector solenoid on the same circuit shorted out. I don't have a wiring diagram to see what else is on the same circuit to see if there are any wires to other components grounding out to cause this. I checked the A/C wires, as I read they might be on the same circuit, all appears to be well and no other codes thrown.

Although when I do the ign on/off/on/off/on with the trip button I do get "hr 1081". don't have the slightest clue what that means.

Would hate to take it to the dealer again, as they just did the #2 injector under warranty, but less than stellar satisfaction. ie broken intake and JB'd back together, hoses to the valve cover not hooked back up and oil in the engine compartment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as getting another injector replaced with the possibility of it getting shorted out again would stink, especially if towing my race car.

For any interested it appears that the A/C compressor is on the same circuit as the "Group 1" injectors. I discovered a grounded out wire at the compressor which in turn shuts down the #1, #2, #3 injector circuit. What a PITA!

Truck running as good as new again.

that's good info man... not something you'd ever have though would be connected together. Did you find a wiring diagram ?

You pulled up the engine hourmeter, which means you didn't do the key cycle properly. To read engine hours you hold down the trip reset button with the odometer in total-mileage mode, then turn the key to RUN and wait ~5 seconds.

To read codes, you get your fingers away from the trip reset button and just cycle the key from OFF to RUN 3 times (holding on RUN the 3rd time).

If these knuckleheads used JB Weld on your intake, then I wouldn't trust them to put gas in the tank or air in the tires. And I'd be willing to bet this new series of problems are their fault.

I'm using the diagrams from AllData (but for an '06) to trace the wires and systems. I haven't narrowed down the actual "junction" where these circuit meet as of yet, busy as hell at work.

I will be checking and tracing both systems to find where they meet tomorrow. When I discovered that the A/C compressor wires were making the injector circuit haywire, I decided to test the theory.

I cleared all codes, had the truck running smoothly as it was before, then started moving the wires, by hand, on top of the A/C compressor. As soon as I did that the codes came back and the truck dropped #1,2,3 injectors. I cleared the codes again, secured the wires so they aren't vibrating and the truck started up and ran fine, yet again. I drove it for about 50+ miles, no problems. Please note I checked the injector Ohms high/low and all were within spec.

I know that this isn't very scientific, but I truly dislike electrical gremlins especially when the codes thrown aren't the underlying cause.

I had a buddy tell me his A/C power wires grounded out against the hard a/c lines by the compressor and gave him the same codes.

Sorry for such a long post and will update what I find with the wires tomorrow.
