nice job. How do you like your scangaugeII? I have been using one for a while. Calibration for mpg is right on.

do me a favor will ya... Use your cruise fast idle and set the rpms to 1500, then read the GPH. . Mine is 0. 00, curious what yours say. .

1500 rpm no reading either took it up to 2000 nothing either . Maybe it only registers while moving. Kinda weird

Interesting, I always thought 1500 was the upper limit of the zero reading. . I will try to calibrate mine on my next fwy trip. . then never mess with it. But MPG/ GPH data will never be quite accurate. . oh well.

You do clean work.

With all those gauges do you have time to look out the windows? I don't want to work that hard to drive my truck.

What is the hose for in the valve cover?

Yes, thou I can imagine on a truck with serious power trying to run the 1/4 it would be too busy to monitor... But I use my truck as a DD and for towing. So when I am towing a quick glance will tell me everything, and generally power is set on a long pull and won't change so the EGT/Boost is the most important there and they are easy to see.

Its the return line for my oil bypass, and Amsoil Kit.

You mention that your visibility improved going from a 2 gauge A pillar to a single gauge. Just how much does the visibility decrease with more than 1 gauge on the A pillar? I will soon be putting gauges in my truck and was thinking of using the 3 gauge A pillar mount. Do you think the decrease in visibilty would be dangerous with this?

Ya it looks sorta like in the cockpit of a helo

:D... thou my buddies at work still give me crap. .

It's not dangerous by any means, but its reduced. The location of the single on the OEM is more to the left than the dual/triples, and the handle is smaller than a gauge.

Very nice work! What fitting are you using at the main oil rifle? Where did you get it? Is that an oil leak, there, or just a bit wet from installation?

I've toyed with a fitting (M10x1 straight?) at that location but couldn't make it seal properly.

Just a bit wet from installation, its a M10. 0x1. 0 with o-ring.

That's what I'm wondering - what o-ring are you using? I tried with a round buna-n ring, but couldn't make it work. Does the fitting have an o-ring groove in it? I know there isn't one in the block.

I am using the o-ring that was on the fitting I bought. Its a Parker fitting, that goes from M10. 0x1. 0 to a -4 JIC.

How do you like the dual gauge pod that mounts on the steering column? Does it obstruct your view of the stock gauge/cluster? I've got 2 gauges to mount and am toying with the different locations (A pillar, over head by rear view mirror, steering column, on top of dash). Thanks for your input.

I like it a lot more than I was expecting. Its still easy to read the ODO and see the cruise light. The gauges don't block any of the tach or speedo... But I am 6'4''... my wife at 5'8'' says it blocks a fair amount, but nothing unsafe or extreme.

Update:

I got tired of the overhead pod falling off on hot days, and didn't want to have to do the major mounting I have read about on here. So a change was in order.

I went with a tripple dash pod, ditched the mickey mouse, and put a single pod down by my trailer brake controller.

I ended up keeping EGT in the A-Pillar, put boost, fuel pressure, and oil pressure in the tripple dash mount, and put drive pressure down by the trailer brake (as my primary use is exhaust brake pressure). Rail pressure was removed and sold (wasn't really needed with my setup and couldn't find a home for it in the truck)

I have about 8K miles on the new setup and a few tows, I really like it. There is a little more glare on the gauges on the dash, but nothing crazy.

I also removed the DP filter, it froze in winter and plugged the rest of the time. mech boost gauges are cheap, if the gauge gets plugged i'll get a new one.

How she looks now.

I know they have been having a hard time keeping up with orders, but I haven't heard of them shutting down.
