Best thing you can do and cheapest is to replace your stock air filter with a K&N canister type filter. I used a cheby 350 K&N filter, took the top off my filter box and fastened it to the base of the stock filter box. Works good until you get the money for the correct filter housing. Second is to adjust your AFC star wheel forward, good free power. Third, remove your waste gate from the turbo and install a Turbo Master adjustable waste gate, works reel good.
The filter and the Turbo Master will run you about $130. 00. These three things will make a great improvement and will not break the bank.
When money permits ,Gages, free flowing exhaust,#10 fuel plate 3K GSK would be the next things to do. It will do wonders for your Buddy's truck.
I did all this to my truck, and i believe it runs as good or better than a new H. O.![]()
P. S. Get him to subscribe to the TDR. Keith
I have been down that road. When you do all of the free stuff, it may be easer to go the other way. Buy the gage's, #6 plate, without the governor kit, use the governor kit and 10# plate.Originally posted by RRobinson
