Who said my dealer is on Crack?

Should all 2500/3500 CTD come with 34 gallon fuel tank?

It's the light unit itself. The Big 3 have to compromise on the lens and aim between a 2wd half ton that's the closest to the ground and a 4x4 one ton that's the furthest. The guy with the Ram 1500 Work Special and V6 may think there's too much light, while a Ram 3500 owner may think there's hardly any, and they'd both be right.

Solution is proper auxiliary lighting, located and aimed where the light should be for that particular vehicle.

for my 1/2 ton 4x4 i think the headlights suck large. high, low, both are useless... if there is good street lighting then they are acceptable, but if it is total dark, the headlights are useless... i wonder when the aftermarket will come out with an HID direct replacment / conversion kit for the headlights... ?

There's always the "Bright Box" from Geno's but, at $150. 00, it's kind of pricey. Wasn't there someone on TDR that was going to invent a similar device at a much lower price? The nights are getting longer and hunting season is on, moving alot of deer. Man, I wish I could decide on which aftermarket bumper I want to buy. Better lights would be a big help. About the only thing I don't like about my truck.

.

for the BR/BE trucks i think the factory fog lights are the perfect solution,,,,,,,,,, the are some high intensity bulbs (9007 HI i think) to help the high beams

I have read the info on the Bright Box from Geno's and looked at other high wattage options. Sounds like the wiring can handle the wattage of these but what about the plastic will it melt???

With the stock lights the only time I have a good view of the road ahead is when someone is passing. Their lights give plenty of light from about a truck length behind until they get even and I have to dim my lights to keep then out of the passing vehicles eyes. I think it's the lights design, as do others on this forum. I would definitely buy any well designed after market fix.

Lights.......

I've helped mine somewhat by installing Sylvania Silver Stars in the headlights and foglights. I helped the high beams with a set of Hella rALLYE 4000's mounted to the front bumper. Can see tomorrow morning coming now with the Hellas burning:D Oo. I have them plumbed to come on with the high beams through a relay.

Agree that the headlights leave a lot to be desired. Had 03 1500 HEMI before this 03 2500 CTD. Both trucks fine on low beam w/fog-lights, but left me in the dark on high beams. I believe the problem is with the reflectors. High beam seems to scatter the light everywhere but on the road in front of the truck. I took the truck back to the dealer and they stated the headlights checked out to factory specs. They also told me that they had many other complaints about 03 RAM headlights. The service manager stated he had an 03 demo and he agreed that the headlights s**k. Especially the high beams. Dodge should be doing a recall on these trucks to correct the problem.

My first Dodge when I was 16 years old was a 1937 Dodge coupe. Had a trunk big enough to lie down in. :D My second Dodge was my '03 CTD. Same lights. :(

Do the '04s have the same problem?

Catz makes a HID conversion kit for the 2003 that is both High and Low beams, which I understand a lot of the HID conversions give you low beam only. Just when I was getting ready to order them they voluntarily quit distributing in the US pending a DOT investigation as to their legality. Perhaps they can still get them in Canada or maybe they will get DOT approval. That's the only thing I've seen that would make a dramatic improvement.

My low beams are ok but the high beams on a stock truck leave a lot to be desired.

Has anyone bought the light kit from geno's that will allow both the low and high beams to stay on, while the high beams are on? I have thought about it, but its expensive for the 03's around $140

I had thought about it too, but if you hold your dimmer switch in the back position it will show you exactly what the kit will do. It seems to throw more light between the bumper and about 40 feet out. My complaint with the lights is the high beams don't reach out far enough. I drive a lot of black top roads and being able to see distance for deer and other critters is worse in this 2003 than any other vehicle I've owned.

It shouldn't take a $140 box to get them all on. Seems like a simple adjustmentis necessary.

Might have to look into that one.

How much are those? I can put landing lights on (had them on my vehicles for years and years) for under $100 I'm sure and I've never seen anything better. You just don't use them around people - great for open roads.
