Should all 2500/3500 CTD come with 34 gallon fuel tank?

Hellas..........

I think I paid about $125. 00 each for them. Well worth it IMO, I do a fair amount of night driving on country roads and they illuminate the sides of the road very well & you can see clearly for at least 400-600 yards down the road.

Be carefull with HID conversion on your head lights. The housings are not designed for these bulbs, you will blind on coming traffic. Also these conversions are illegal now as per the DOT. I am going to try an HID retrofit to my fog's instead. At least these housings have better focus than the "flood light" headlights we have.

Do not mess with the headlight bulbs...

My recommendation is to abtain a whiter PIAA bulb that is DOT approved for the headlights, and then try a HID conversion for the fogs. I say this as the fogs are 9006, which plugs in directly to the ballast. I have a complete BMW HID headlight set custom mounted into my fogs. Another reason is the fog lenses are glass. The light is unbelievable. I will search for the posts

The low beams on the trucks (if used with the fog lights) are not a problem. It is the high beams that are so bad. I think the fog lights themselves work really great compared to other vehicles I have seen. My wife's Blazer won't even let you run just the fog lights - what good is that in the fog?

Replacement Bulbs

Has anyone tried the replacement bulbs that JC Whitney has on the market? I was looking at the 100/80 watt Xenon bulbs. Stock wattage is 65/55. What kind of trouble would I get in legally and electrically if I used non DOT approved bulbs?

High wattage bulbs.............

... ... ... probably won't do your wiring harness much good & may cause a bulb malfunction warning light to come on. I've noticed the late model vehicles sure don't overbuild their wiring harnesses, they look really lightweight compared with the older vehicles. Also be aware that the headlamps feed through the central electrical module that actually sends a pulsed voltage to the bulb (it continually monitors bulb integrity), you may be in for an expensive ride if you overload the module:eek:

03 headlights

Has anyone tried reaiming the lights, I think it's a funky system. When the hi beams are on I think I should be coon hunting. I've run out of adjustment trying to bring them down. Any suggestions? TBOB

This is what the Sylvania site says...

If those are the blue ones, they are junk. I bought a pair off ebay and tried them. Totally junk! Put them back on ebay the next day;)

Does anybody know if the "Bright Box" is throwing any bulb codes or do they work as advertised?

I don't think 150 bucks is no to much to ask for all there engineering.

I bought some Silverstars at Walmart for $37 a pair. Figured I'd give them a try until I get the landing lights or something better.

Question: how do you get to the bulbs in these new trucks? From the back or the front? Looks to be kinda tight in there.

Thanks.

Maybe more wasted money then. Perhaps I should take them back? Or maybe I'll try them and then take them back if they don't do what they promise.

Brite Box

I JUST INSTALLED THE BRITE BOXES IN MY TRUCK AND IT IS DEFINITELY BETTER. I CAN SEE NOW. I USE TO DRIVE WITH MY LOW BEAMS AND FOG LIGHT ON BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT WAS BETTER THEN THE HIGH BEAMS. I CAN SEE A LOT BETTER WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON NOW.

I have been thinking the Brite Boxes were going to be the best fix so far. Glad someone finally has them. Let us know if you have any trouble with heat. blowm fuses, anything else.
