More tire legalities...

I have a co- worker that has a '97 Phord Exploder which was involved in that FoMoCo/ Firestone tire BS and he needs new tires now. He chose a brand and model from Tirerack.com, but they would not sell them to him because Ford now has an "approved tire" list for the Exploders in question. Apparently, ford does not authorize tires for the Exploder with 16" wheels now even though that is what they came with. I thought that this situation was quite amusing, but in todays litigious society i'm not surprised. He is getting tire from a local shop.
