Competition Drag question

Free Deer Removal:)

Yep... . they moved in just over a year and a half ago. They purchased a little half acre lot in a development that boarders our property. There's not a week that goes by that he doesn't come up with something else. The latest one, not specifically against us, is he called the game commission to come and remove the deer that are messing up his grass.

Tell your neighbor I'll be glad to remove all the deer they want and the only thing I'll charge them is water from their hose to wash the cavity with before putting the carcasses into big ice chests to keep fresh on my drive home. Or maybe you would like to have a big neighborhood barbque. Welcome all of your new neighbors by cooking the pests that plague your ability to get produce to the market. :D

This has got to be the stupidest comment .

Your gonna stick and amputee on a horse or a canoe?

You can stick an oar in the rear and tell him to wiggle and perhaps you can tie him to the horse. They should have seat belts anyway:eek::rolleyes:

I'm glad this got posted! You can bet yer C-rations that these clowns plan to push this new administration hard to outlaw every conceiveable passtime in the name of the environment. Its called the Hegelian Principle. You want social change, you dream up a problem and then you apply YOUR solution. This concept of social engineering is about 170 years old.

Yooper39, There are laws and there are always that 10% that dont get the word, dont care and blatant lawbreakers. Seems there are alot of fires recently in California, started by arsonists. Thats against the law, also! I Hope you were not affected! I also hope they HANG the perp by his #%&&*!!

California has also outlawed lead and lead cored projectiles for firearms! More EPA/Environmentalists extreme measures that actually got passed into law. We all need to stand up for what is right or the opposition will soon be telling us what to say to define right. For every tresspass with a 4X4 or ATV there is a whole section of the population that uses their vehicles in a legal and ethical manner. Farmers, Ranchers, handicapped, outdoorsmen, and the general fun operator. The job is to present our side of the story to the people responsible for crafting legislation! GregH

I think the site referenced at the beginning of this thread is a little over the top.

They take advantage of the common populace's lack of real knowledge about the law and how truly restrictive it is in today's terms. I work on a military installation. In 2001, we hosted the World Police and Fire Games. One of the events was a cross-country motorbike race. The environmental section was heavily involved with that due to erosion issues, not to mention the HAZMAT spill response. When you compare a motorbike to a HMMWV or, God Forbid, an M1 Tank, the amount of erosion, especially on a stream bank, that a dirt bike does is bordering on insignificant.

I second he's a new homeowner who bought into the area and figured he would change it for the better

Plenty of those to go around.

My Dad used to work for Conrail in Bayhead junction nj.

They built hi bux houses within 200 feet of the rail yard. You can guess what happened.

Deep ecology is truly nutty. And the Center of Biological Diversity is one of the most radical (and effective) outfits out there.

First time I've heard the term "thrillcraft". One more ploy they can try.

I hope everyone that does enjoy OHV join your local, state and national organizations. I Jeep and I'm a member of

CA4WDC, UFWDA, and Blue Ribbon. For the cost of a tank of fuel you can add your voice to those out there fighting the good fight.

All you need to do is exercise your 2nd ammendment rights frequently in view off this bleeding heart liberal. Set up a shooting range on your land, shoot clays, and place a sign on you fence:

Tresspasers will be shot, Survivors will be shot again!

Tresspassers

I prefer the sign on the Kennedy compound in Florida... ... "Tresspassers will be violated"!!:eek::D:-laf

I know when I go out in the woods, I love to have the nice sounds of nature interrupted by some a-hole on a 4-wheeler. or dirt bike. Nothing better than the sound and smell of a two stroke in the middle of the woods... yeah buddy! There are some places people should not be allowed to take ATVs.

And there are some places you should not be allowed with out a 4 wheeler. I doubt you would ever know what the feeling is like to crest a remote mountain pass on a 4 wheeler above treeline and find yourself in the middle of a herd of Caribou. Hundreds all around migrating past you, we (wife & I) shut off the 4 wheelers watched, listened, and enjoyed all of this for 2 hours until the heard passed by us. It was so quiet you could hear their hooves cutting the mud in a low lying area 1/4 mile away. This was 35 miles from the road in the rain. We enyoyed seeing no one that day other than the Caribou.

So where are the Caribou?!

Though you can only see some in the forground as they were heading away, the whole side of the valley beyond to the peaks were filled with them. Here's another photo for the people who don't know what a Carbou looks like.

WOW, talk about some WACKOS!!. Whatever you do, don't ship them up to Canada, its just fine up here without them and their ideas. Of course, we have so much land it would be impossible to police, and we have our own wackos, but generally speaking, a dead wacko is a quiet wacko:-laf

These radical eco nuts can't be talked to or reasoned with and sure as heck don't try and make a compromise with them. We've learned that the hard way.

Nonethless we certainly do have a problem, a large problem with the yahoo element of ohv'rs. I've been driven out of my camp by the noisy idiots before. I can't for the life of me understand why people atv's and motorcycles in and around camp (to and from I understand) and shoot guns in camp. If I go shoot I make sure I'm at least one ridge away and far away enough I wont be heard in camp.

I have no idea how to get the message across to these people. I've never seen this poor behavior from anyone sporting a club or association sticker. Seems most of these people have no one teaching them to tread lightly.

I also understand the noise issue. Personally I keep my Jeep as quiet as I can. I would have no problem seeing mandatory noise restrictions.

Where I differ from these eco nuts is they just want to ban everyone. I'd much rather see the land agencies have huge increases in their budgets (i believe they are woefully underfunded now) and put most of that towards law enforcement. Tear up a trail and go to jail. Do something incredibly stupid and have your ride confiscated.

My only problem with supporting extreme measure such as vehicle confiscation is that it has to be done very carefully. Not "you were one foot into the wilderness when you were turning around" kind of enforcement. I've found myself on a "no Jeep" road before because I entered from a small secondary trail that wasn't marked. I'd hate to get in trouble for something that wasn't intentional. The idiot who is doing donuts in the middle of a meadow though, throw the book at those morons.

CRuth ... that's a very good and well-balanced post there IMO. I do not support the extremist views of the ecofreaks, however, I have been wheeling for over 35 years, and I have to say that the off-road yahoo factor has definitely gone way up from my direct observation. Perhaps it's a function of more people recreating in off-road areas (rather than a higher respective percentage), but either way, there are definitely some real idiots and a-holes out there potentially ruining it for the rest of us.
