motorcycle Deals Gap

Anybody ever ride "the tail of the dragon" at Deals Gap? I hear its a great place to ride, except for the RV's.

I rode the Dragon twice last week - Tuesday and Wednesday. 318 turns in 11 miles on US129 between the Foothills Parkway (TN) and Deals Gap, NC. Every motorcyclist should ride it at least once - get your t-shirts and souvenirs at the Deals Gap, NC biker stop.



I had the road pretty much to myself riding during the week, but the weekends are another matter.

Oh my god... That guy thought he had a crotch rocket, and forgot that full dressed cruisers don't handle as good!!! Their going to beat our ... ... That was just too funny. :-laf That is why we all have to slow down sometimes, and share the road.

I forget what you call it, Fixation something. When your riding a bike, if you stair at something, you will hit it! Plus it looks like he never even used the front brake (65% of his brakes are on the front!)

Target fixation. The rider looks like his education on motorcycle control began and ended with his right hand.

My folks just did that with their MG club. Had a ball. The ranger there said they lose about 4 bikers a month there! I saw a video of a dresser running that and he was GOOD! Pegs down, no fixation, very good rider.

It seems like braking and turning on a bike is like patting your head and rubbing your tummy for some folks...

I have never understood the fascination with the rear brake in the cruising sector. But hey, if you've ever ridden for any period of time I can almost guarantee you've had an instance just like that... or will. I know I have... ...
