I mounted my bypass filter a little bit further back. It's an Oilguard, but mounted it to the driver side frame rail just behind the transmission. It's on the inside of the frame rail, so it's not noticable looking at the truck. It took about 25 feet of hose though, so this may not be the ideal setup, but I am happy with it. Had to make a special bracket to bolt it on with, so wouldnt have to drill any holes in the frame. There is an opening in the inside of the rail, and can make a bracket with some bar stock bent for one end to go inside the pocket and bolt to the other side of the rail, and the other end bolts at the inside of the rail, and the metal extends a bit further. Welded a piece of angle iron to this, to raise the filter a little higher. A little primer and paint and install, it doesnt look bad. I put a miniature ball valve in this line near the hookup to the pressure side. Had to add 1 1/2 qts of oil to make up for the volume in the filter can. Just another idea. . I posted in a separate article how to modify a factory oil cap with an amsoil adapter, to make a neat looking install, if this is of any help.
