Radar Doctor,
While investigating the Rocktech Timing Sensor, you will probably here about the "Tone Ring Modification", which, essentially, does the same thing, as I understand. Advances the timing about 2 deg's.
Basically, you remove the crankshaft pully (4 bolts) loosening the serpentine belt, first. Remove the crankshaft pully/dampener & right behind it is the tone ring. It has little teeth on it kind of like a circular saw blade with carbide tips.
You will see a smaller hole that a dowel pin goes through. It allows you to only position the tone ring, one way.
As you look at the tone ring sitting on the engine, you want to grind off about 1/16" on the left (counterclockwise) side of the hole, making it oblong.
This will allow you to slightly rotate the tone ring, clockwise, thereby, advancing the timing.
Put everything back together and you have advanced the timing, pretty much for free. I'm no mechanic, & I did it with relative ease.
