Recently within the last few tanks i lost atleast 60 miles to a tank. There arent any fuel leaks, no fuel in the oil. egt, rail and fuel pressure have all remained the same. So im wondering if anyone has any ideas what could have caused the loss. I have an 03 6spd. II120 sticks, cp3 bag of parts, 2nd gen turbo swap and a 5in exhaust.

What part of the country are you from? If you are using winter blend fuel expect to see a couple mpg drop in economy during the winter. It also doesn't take too much idling when it's cold out to drop a couple mpg off your average.

I live in northeast iowa. i know you drop mpg when they mix to winter blend, and that was already accounted for, i lost an aditional 60 miles on top of that. its plugged in everynight so there isnt much idle time.

Just a bought of cold weather will drop mileage... diesels are more efficient when its warmer outside. I can watch my mileage drop just from a drop in temperature (and its not fuel related).

What is your MPG? if your concerned with cost plugging in over night ( 4Ams@10hrs) at

. 10 Kilowatt= $1. 25 daily. Plugging in for 60/70 minutes will = the over night temp.

if you think thats bad i know someone that recently bought a ford supperduty. 10 mpg 1st tank. 10 mpg 2nd tank. took it to dealer they played with it 8 mpg 2nd tank. he traded his suburban in for a diesel for better mpg towing... shoulda bought a dodge lmao

I was just worried that something was wrong with me truck, it first lost the mileage when it was really cold. but the weather has picked up some but i haven't gotten my mileage back. I guess i will just keep and eye on things and see if anything happens

Are we just to Guess what Your MPGs are? Generally just about everyone jumps in on MPG threads,But Your not giving much to go on.

I had a similar problem and after I discovered a dragging brake caliper(just one of the pistons was stuck) and replaced the front u-joints it got better. Then it got worse again and I discovered a right front hubbearing that went out, replaced it and things got better. Now I'm back down some due to the fact that the right front u-joint must have got damaged at the shop when they replaced the hubbearing. The seals are blown on it. I miss my DANA axles!! #rd gen is great just not as durable running gear! My . 02 cents
