Muffler Elimination Kit from Geno's...Who has one?

Anyone out there using Geno's muffler elimination kit?... ... Thinking about installing one on my 2003 CTD..... Comments? Likes? Dislikes?

I love mine I put one on my 05.

I just put one on my 2006, 3500 and just love it. Have not had it on long enough to check fuel milage, but I do seem to have better throttle response. I like the sound too! I do not think it is to loud at all and no cab noise at all.

CAT still in place, but installed the muffler elimination kit in June/July 2006 and really like the deeper sound. Noticed marginal if any fuel mpg increase. Temps seem down a bit, esp. when towing.

Just put mine on a couple weeks ago... It's great! I did leave the cat on. It's not loud at all, just a nice deep growl... Running at a cruising speed it doesn't sound any different to me.

How much was all of yours? I have a straight pipe but just a flared straight piece, no bends, welded, new hangars for $75 at a local muffler shop. I thought about the Genos but it just clamps.

I think I have $40 in mine. I went to a diesel shop and found a scrap 4" piece, plus a 4" - 45*. I used a 10" abrasive chop saw to cut a couple slivers out of the 45* and wire welded it all together. It's got a slight dog leg, but no bends and hangs on the factory hangars.



I put a 5"x10" tip on it and HATE it! Makes the sound louder, but higher pitched. It looks okay with the trailer on, but without it, from behind it looks whimpy cause it's so short. When I get a chance, I'm gonna make a 5" tip to go all the way back to the bend where the tailpipe comes down off the axle.

I put one on last spring and I really like the sound however, the drone at 65-70 is killing me! I am now looking for an alternative to get a really good sound and no drone.



As you know the '03 has no cat so it will be 100% straight pipe. I wish I had a cat or a resonator to see what that would do to the drone.
