Hey all,
Taking a hard look at installing the Muffler elimination kit offered from Geno's garage (along with the 5" 'monster tip'). I want to put it on my '01 H. O. H. D. 6 spd 3500 Cummins. Anybody purchase and install one yet? What did it sound like? How much of a pain was installation? Does this muffler elimination require any injector/engine adjustments? Were you overall pleased with the new sound/performance?

Thanks in advance,
Phil G.

I put one on a 2500 HO 6spd about two weeks ago. I love it and have no regrets at all. I took the truck to a muffy shop,25. 00 and an hour later I was cruisin. The Kit fit well and no modification to the truck. He had to cut one clamp off but was able to reuse it. At idle not much difference. Sounds like a big rig if the engine is working or going through the gears. My wife gave me no problems with the extra noise. She even said it now sounds like a truck. Just do it.

I am also thinking of purchasing that same pipe, but was also wondering if it would clamp up to the test pipe from the dealer that eliminates the Cat. any body know ? I just want to try this before I decide which new Turbo back system I want muffler/no muffler

A 3" straight pipe is going to have a different tone than a 4" straight pipe, probably not as deep. I'm contemptating the same thing right now, muffler/no muffler. What I think I'm going to try to do is to get a 4" kit with enough pipe to install first without the muffler, and then judge the exhaust from there.

Dont waste your time any money on it like I did. I had the Geno kit on my truck and 1 week later had everything else removed... 3" straight pipe from turbo to tail pipe. You know you are going to say "COOL!" once you get it on, and it wont be long until you do the rest of the exhaust. Might as well do it all at once and get it over with.
