Muffler

Your signature doesn't say what year truck you have but if you have the 2004. 5+ you can get the MBRP or AFE bolt in replacement mufflers, inexpensive, fits good and sounds good too. With a 2004. 5 you already have a 4. 0 inch pipe system you just need to have a high flow muffler and possibly a cat pipe depending on how hot your EGT's are anyway! If you have a 2003/04 you need to look at a full systems as they have 3. 5 inch pipes except for the tail pipe.

You guys have sold me on the replacement MBRP muffler kit. I had a full 4" on 03 from them and it osunded awesome. The people that work for me don't like the new truck because they can't hear when I get to work and don't know when to start acting like they are working

If you only want a muffler that is "a little throaty" I would not suggest the aeroturbine. I installed this muffler on my truck with no cat and it was very loud at almost any rpm, especially pulling a trailer. Also very airy sounding at idle. I switched to a banks monster muffler (only banks part on my truck) and am much happier with the sound. Quiet at idle and a much more mellow tone during partial throttle, while still having a performance sound wide open.

they told me about this when they installed the muffler at Dunks Performance in Eugene. i decided to leave the cat on, and they wouldnt touch it anyway... i dont blame them...



they also said the longer version would be fine without the cat on.
