Diesel emissions in NJ?

I was thinking about going out early Friday morning but I just looked and mapquest told me it was 771 miles so maybe it would be good to leave on the Thursday. I am hoping to meet up with some of you guys so I guess it'll depend on what everyone else is doing. I am scheduled for the Monday - Thursady before to be off and then I am taking vacation for the Friday - Sunday that I am suppose to work for that weekend so I am pretty flexible.

I'd like to propose two routes for the NE guys and see what you all think.

The first is the way we went out last year, 84-> 81->80 (across PA) -> 71-> 675. Other than the Beacon/Newburg bridge, this is toll free.

It's the same distance to go: 84-> 684-> 287-> 78-> 76-> 70-> 675. Actually the map software says it's within about a mile! But this takes us down the Penn Turnpike, which it a toll road. This is the way we came home last time.

The second route may work better for the Southern CT folk, who could meet up with us somewhere around 287. Glenns Falls could meet us where 87 meets 287, and the PA folk

can join up along the PA turnpike.

Both routes are just over 11 hours. Very doable if we leave early on Thursday morning and keep the stops to a minimum. For example, instead of spending 2 hours trying to fix a bad CB, we buy a handheld.

What dya all think?

That and you driving on while the rest of us stop for fuel... "I couldn't hear you on the radio" I only wish you were coming along with us again this year. :{ :{ It's going to be one hell of a ride, I can feel it

MTE

I couldn't hear squat over the stack...

I made it darn near into Ohio before I even needed fuel... . I amazed myself with that manuever.

Besides, how boring would it have been if things were perfectly planned and we were all good little soldiers? :-laf

There's no rule that says I have to travel from WI... . I have to come home and get my truck eventually... .

MTY

That sounds like an excellent plan... Pick up the truck, head out to Muncie with us... home to WI afterwards...

Hey everybody, Holeshot may be ridin' with us!! :D

MTE

A lot can happen between now and May... but I like the sounds of that plan...

I'm not going to fix my old CB or buy a new one... just to spite you guys! I really enjoyed communicating with smoke signals last year... :-laf

Weaties,Me and Gorilla are planin on thursday mornin ourselves,Can I bother you to make us a route from Milford Ma. (495 is closest route)to where ever you guys are gonna meet up... . PLEEEEEEEASE or Gorilla won't ride the brass pole:D

I thinks we are talking about Thursday morning. That way we get in whenever that Thursday night, can sleep in if we want to (Friday), get the truck through the truck wash, and all polished up... and ready to PARTY Friday night

If you get there early, you have a private bar behind (North) of Lees Inn. Days Inn is across the street from there also. The bar will open at 5:00 pm. See you guys then!

BigDig,

495-> 90-> 84 -> Exit2 in Danbury,CT is 2hours 9 minutes assuming you are truckin' along at 70mph.

I'd like to leave at 7:00 AM from Danbury and can post arrival times along the way. For example: This puts us at 684 & 287 at: 7:35

Not accounting for delays or traffic

Hmmmm lets see,110ga fuel,3 full beer coolers,a brass dancing pole w/rigging,yeah 70mph is kool. I got your nexte# anyways in case of problem,if we're late, just leave...

I don't think you have my Nextel number because I don't have a nextel... I will have to remember that I don't have to ask you if you need fuel :p

Looks like Proram and I will be leaving Central PA and running part way out after work on Thursday that week. Then going into Muncie early Friday as after working Thursday we will be lucky to make it that far. We are staying at the Best Western and you guys better help Sled Puller hide his keys from me before we get there.

woodsrat...

We will in all likely hood stay somewhere in your neck of the woods on our way out. As the time draws closer check with me and we'll all run out together on Friday early... ... ... ... . Andy

On Edit...

BTW Gene...

I'll have my cover for my truck so it stays all shiny that weekend and it locks so you can not make it get dirty. May even have to go out and ready Sebek's paint for there too, since he never finished it YET.
