After much consideration, I traded in my truck last week. It is simple economics; the price of diesel fuel finally reached the point I could no longer stand with no relief in sight. The cost of everything is skyrocketing and selling the truck was a simple way to relieve some of the pressure. I'll now try to sell the travel trailer, and we'll go back to tent camping, with that probably only being in the local area. The dealership that got my truck has already sold it - only took a few days. For those who might be interested, I traded for a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. Still a fun vehicle with lower monthly payments and no extra fuel costs. I'll still leave it parked a lot choosing to drive the Honda or the Harley to save fuel costs. Anyway, I miss the truck since it was exactly what I wanted since Dodge introduced the new body style of the 2nd Gen; but I've wanted a Wrangler for a long time too. A man's got have his toys. Perhaps someday I'll return, we'll wait and see.

Best wishes to all,

Wayne

I just hope you aren't expecting decent mileage from the Wrangler. Expect only 15 city or highway. I know that the fuel is cheaper than gas (until maybe Summer), but the mileage won't be any better. If you had a 2nd gen, the mileage difference probably makes up for the fuel price difference.

Welcome back. Pictures please!

It's a very dark green, but not sure of official color name yet.

Thank you! Hopefully the last truck I will ever need to buy.

Nope, unless you figure on expiring with the warranty. You now have a million mile umbilical to the dealer, that is distance not total miles, and when they pull their end the truck just dies. :O

When I was looking to buy a truck I said "NO BLACK" since I was getting rid of a black truck, had a black car and a black minivan. First one he shows me was this. Very pretty color, but.....tooo black for me (I was sick of black by then).

Looks GREAT!

I ended up with the Delmontico red.

All the best to you.
I've been missing in action from here for a long time too, but not by choice. Got the genie back in the bottle now, (we hope) did a nice towing trip last spring, and I love my truck. I DD an old beater 4 banger 4x4 Tacoma with 324k on it and save my Dodge for when I need AC or we are gonna tow.
I don''t see fuel costs dropping anytime soon, but I won'''t be giving up my truck or my lifestyle. Too old and too many trips still in my bucket list.
