Does the huge triple axle dual wheel flat bed trailer and the tracked "tractor" smooth the ride out enough to make it tolerable?

To be honest, not really. With the way it's loaded in the photo it's pulling right at 23,000 lbs and I think the ride is worse than if I'm running unloaded. Seems when I have just the empty trailer @ 9,000 lbs behind me is when it rides the best. Believe me though, after you drive a Mack quad axle dump truck these things ride like a Cadillac!! Oo. :-laf

Hardcore... ...

Thanks for the info, that thing is beautiful. As far as the ride being a little more robust hooked up to that gooser,it's probably due to the front end being unloaded.

I'll bet it's got the "hop" huh?

If so it wouldnt bother me;)

It's a Takeuchi TL150 and it's 11,830 lbs plus the 1,500 lbs bucket. It has a great little Yanmar 98 H. P. Turbo Diesel engine that really kicks some butt. Have you been happy with the ASV? I'm curious because I've had a few guys around here say they have had too many small problems with theirs. I bought mine last May after almost getting the Cat 297C which now has a completely different under carriage this year.

I see your in San Jose, I lived in Fremont & Santa Clara from 1991-2003 when I worked for PG&E. Miss the weather but not the traffic!!

ASV makes the tracks and undercarriage for CAT. i had some problems with the verticle arms rubbing the hydrolic lines, the arms were replaced with the newer arms.

it is a great machine. very smooth it only has 84 hp, but seems to do the job because the RCV is geared lower and can work with 4k all day long. \

i looked at the CATS but liked the tracking system on the ASV better. ASV is now owned by TEREX.

like i've said before, can't waite to get back to our home in Deming, NM

by the way have you heard of or do you know anyone that has used the AIRSAFE GOOSENECKS? they are featured in the PPL catalogue. www.pplmotorhomess.com. i want to add a gooseneck receiver to my 5500, but figured it would only make the ride of the trailer and truck rougher
