It was alot better today, or maybe I'm going deaf. I'll get some dynomat and do the roof when I do the cab lights which wont be until around Feb. I had an idea to run a pipe inside the stack. Maybe the sound waves are amplified when the pipe gets larger. Mine are 6". It is reduced to 4" at the base. I could slip 4" inside and run it most of the way up the stack. I wonder if keeping it at 4" would reduce the vibration that the sound waves cause. Just a shot in the dark.

Has anyone tried a walker 22571? I have 5" slant stacks and the drone is also killing me. Had this 22571(9"x36") shipped in but it is straight through also like the 7"x36"walker I am presently running. Don't know whether to give it a try or send it back.

Forrest, are you saying that there is less drone with straight pipe then with a combination of resonator and muffler? After I get my turbo situation handled I would like to try heavier gauge 5" pipe 2200+ rpm is... ... . well you know.

I'm saying I sold the stacks, and put my 5" system back on... I've done lots of work to it... adding mass, flex pipe, etc. sound deadener in the cab, etc. you can hear it, but there's no droning resonance... I can cruise at any speed w/ any load out back, and it's no problem.

but yes, with my stacks, I had MORE resonance with EVERY muffler/resonator combo I tried vs. just straight pipe! :(
