Of which I own 2 ex rental cars, nothing wrong with those typically, both were certified pre owned (which means nothing but helps with major issues to get a different vehicle, a turd is a turd certified turd or not)

The GMC is not that's most likely a trade as its listed GMC Certified PreOwned, STAR is a small new dealer off Rt22 in Bethlehem about 10min from that used one off 78, they have been around forever, used to be in Easton off 22, it's now a big Uhaul place off 25th street.

I would buy from Star if they had exactly something I was looking for and the deal was right, checked it all out and the sort.

At the same time not sure about this pic with the lifetime powertrain warranty.

Someone intrested in any vehicle listed like that should register then put that VIN into Ramtruck and see what warranty and status pops up. I dont think these rental folks are buying MaxCare then auction off the thing. You can pretty much do that for any vehicle.

Star used to be Ranken Pontiac/GMC. They were at 22 and 512(?), then moved to 25th St, and then to the new location. They had a TERRIBLE reputation as shysters.

The 22/512 location was Key Pontiac. Star has a used lot there now, I think.

For sure. I look for vehicles alot for my company, not sure what the magic algorithm number is but low mile rentals are very easy to find for odd trim vehicles,

IMO since I have atleast 3 rentals a week for like 15 years now in my company, those are pretty bad rental vehicles to have in your normal rental fleet. The tradesman I get for the industrial folks, but the others it's odd to see those in an like an Enterprise lot for daily stuff.

Could be corporate leases with Hertz, you can hand pick a vehicle and lease from Hertz, if you get the full report you will see the city they were titled to, then google that and it gives you the company it came from, mine were both ex-Hertz, so could be top shelf or one of their economy companies depending on the options, for example Thrifty owned by Hertz gets a large number of stock from the higher mile Hertz stock. So if those RAM are not pulling their $ numbers and total rentals they are no good to their lower tier companies, off they go.

But my first thought why does Star have that many, the location of that dealer to the Manhiem Auction down 78, then the others down 81 a bit, they have a pretty good location to hit up those auctions and you are in a pretty big population, with very little transport fees.

I believe Enterprise in in cahoots with FCA in regards to RAM HD rental trucks. Additionally......from what I know, all of the 2500/3500 rental vehicles from Enterprise are also more of a “long term” rental, meaning rental for at least a month (minimum) at a time. Since Enterprise has the contract with FCA, I’m sure these are ordered vehicles well in advance, and are probably nearing the one year acquisition period.

I believe it. In the 90’s it was Dollar rent a car. In ‘96 I was assured I had one of the first Chrysler Sebring Convertibles in central Florida for our honeymoon. I know Thrifty had a deal with Chrysler too.

A buddy of mine bought a 2014 2500 4X4 laramie rental truck in 2015 off of a Chevy lot. The VIN search showed it did not have limited slip rear differential, huh?

I guess its an option on 2500's, but standard on 3500's.

I have been entertaining the idea of Mopar Max Care plan. I have never even considered one before, but the super-glitchy 12" U Connect, other gadgets, and emissions components are definitely making me look into it. I will not consider any 3rd party plans. I emailed an online provider of Mopar plans and asked specifically about the turbo, actuator, and all the various emissions components. Reply is below. It would appear the DOC and DPF are excluded.

The Turbocharger Housing and all internal parts are covered by the Maximum Care plans. The DEF system is covered with the exception of catalytic convertors and the Particulate filter, which are not covered by any extended warranties.

I had called out the actuator specifically to them, and the reply is unclear as to that. I plan to call and ask on that. It seems like the factory fix is to replace the turbo, from the accounts I have read, so that would include the actuator, no? I am with you, though, if they exclude common failures then you are paying for eye wash.

I think the reply clearly states that the actuator isn't covered, as the actuator isn't part of the housing nor is it internal.

Huh, the turbo actuator is part of the turbo. The quote does include internals of the turbo, although I like to see the actuator mentioned in righting from a official source or literature.

There are several threads on here about the actuator not being covered, as it's not internal to the turbo.
